Holy shit I completely forgot about this. I was a big fan of Atrioc's contract competitions so I remember when the deepfake drama hit. It really bummed me out, I actually remember turning off his apology video when I saw he had his wife there with him because it read as a tactic to me.

Still, I thought he did the right thing by taking a hiatus, and I was tangentially aware of him starting a podcast which made sense to me. Didn't realize he was back on the streaming scene too (I'm a tourist from r/popular so I don't really follow this).

At this point, honestly, I can't understand still holding it over his head professionally. Reading the responses here about the concrete steps he took to not just atone but substantively improve things, not to mention this clip itself...it's just so different from what genuinely toxic abusers do when they're caught. YMMV, and on a personal level obviously I understand someone still being uncomfortable with him socially or whatever, but yeah at this point I don't see how it goes any further than that.

I don't know any of the other names in these comments, so my only real takeaway from this is that I apparently have a couple years of contract competitions and Hitman Horse to catch up on. Streisand Effect in action.

I've even read speculation that it was an intentional design choice due to issues with side quests at launch, which is just stupid enough to be plausible IMO.
