Is the leadership still the same? What was your relationship like with them? If there are new leaders but lots of lab staff who vouch for you, there’s probably a chance. If there was a manager ready to get rid of you due to attendance they may be less inclined to bring you back.

I would be straight up about your mental health and take accountability for the attendance (assuming that was the reason for your attendance issues)

Dr. Grant with MercyOne Clive. I’m not familiar with any of the meds you listed, but I found Dr. Grant to be a really thoughtful listener and really collaborative. Spent an hour discussing options with me, hard to find nowadays.

Unity Point has better benefits and better culture IMO. Mercy has a bigger and more capable ICU at this time (they are a stroke center but UP is not, so that’s one reason for that). Ultimately nursing in Iowa does not have very competitive pay which is unfortunately and largely due to the states trash Medicaid reimbursement.

Ultimately either but depends what she’s looking for. Cath lab might be a good pivot for more money if she is willing to take call.

Super different job and skill set. And frankly since I’ve been out of bedside for a good while my clinical skills are pretty crap compared to my staff. I certainly pitch in with what I can when I can but ultimately my time should be spent getting our staffing sorted out so these scenarios happen less frequently.

Can’t do interviews, attend meetings, plan the budget (and argue my ass off to get every god damn FTE approved) if I’m out on the unit randomly day to day.

It’s just a plunger? Pushes out easy? Idk I’m not an expert just my experience from exploding shampoo bottles in my lifetime lol

lemonade4

I feel like the pressurized flight could make the plug pop off? Maybe if you under fill a good about?

I like your idea!

No, do not give the teacher more work. They are already providing your kid with work they can do from home. Use that if you need to use anything.

The Pose Plyo tank is the perfect length and built in bra. I have 8 😂. I also have the Halo Wide Leg Pants, the Miles ankle pant (these pass for scrubs which is good for my work) and randomly I really like their ankle socks lol.

Not petite, but Vuori is basically my entire wardrobe at this point. I like solids that look put together. The brand also just fits me right.

Also Faherty, Z Supply and Varley

Laura at East Village spa! If you have a specific area her targeted massage is life changing!

It downpoured last Sunday.

And that she gave him a few doses of the antiobiotics, changed her mind about it and then claimed the cure came from her magic potion instead of the antiobiotics she had just given. What an absolute dumbass. The fact she can even adopt kids is depressing. Not to mention it’s probably pretty easy to say “my kids just never get sick!” When you aren’t there to see their infancy or toddler ages.

Dr. Stephanie Donnell Randall at the Dental Loft in Urbandale. She is awesome and has always been very helpful and accommodating patients different financial situations.

I’d do a year or so in the Cath Lab and then seek EP. Paramedic-EP can be done but it isn’t easy. You’ll make more money I would imagine, my EP paramedics easily clear 6 figures and I’m in a low paying state.

We try not to even leave sterile tables unattended. I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving them out overnight. You’re saving a mere couple of minutes (and are we ever even waiting on the table itself?), for what seems like undue risk.

This is a pretty common model in other countries with a low volume but I’ve never seen it in the US. Hard to imagine with the pace most modern labs keep.

Go someplace smaller and you’ll be scrubbing in no time. Many nurses operate in all roles where I work.

I’ve been a transplant coordinator on the recipient side (hearts & lungs) and while most people working at the OPOs have the right intent, the process is awful. They get a ton of pressure to gain donor agreement and place every organ. This makes the process worse for everyone (except for the recipients who benefit from the often life saving organ).

I feel for the staff working at the OPOs, they are victims in this and most of them take the job with a passion for the work. Leaders ave fucked the process with their focus on increasing numbers. I also think the DCD process is especially awful, the brain dead process is much more clear cut and predictable.

The solution here is for OPOs to become a government agency. Right now they are for-profit and staff is regularly put in basically a sales position.

I hate to hear this is making people reconsider their organ donor status. There are lives on the other side of all this, they need us. But I understand.

I am in Iowa and most certainly will vote for Turek. I’m waiting for my sign to arrive! I also would say I’m a somewhat stereotypical millennial lib in my love for Obama.

With that said, this is obviously not the best ad ever. Even as an Iowan i didn’t watch the whole ad when it was served to me because Turek is so deeply lacking in charisma he somehow managed to make that ad dull. I have not heard a single Iowan discuss this ad and am very worried about the lack of enthusiasm Turek has been able to garner.

Incredible example of what our rural specialists go through when services get cut. Amazing story and a stark reminder that there are patients (and babies) behind service closures.

Dr. Sydney at DSM Spine+Sport

Reminder that we have a chance to replace this asshole with Sarah Trone Garriott this election!

About 17k per kid.

Scrubbing should be no problem. Our nurses scrub all the time. The xray piece needs to stay with the doc. I’d talk to the docs about it.
