High twenties is still insane even for the absolute pinnacle of endurance athletes
lkearney999
That’s stupid. That’s not athletic bradycardia range. Don’t boast about that without clarifying if you’ve checked in with a doctor.
lkearney999
That doesn’t mean 0% swift at all? It’s likely swift code as a wrapping UI and possibly even swift code architecting chromium, swift has pretty decent cpp interop because Apple also uses it pretty extensively. Not to mention it might not even be a chromium wrapper this could be WebKit?

220 - age was based on a study conducted on and for men IIRC. Women usually have a higher MHR on average!

Honestly the community is so tight knit it might be worth just straight up asking who has the project before then enquiring on the slack if they’re in there or if someone else knows anything
lkearney999
They had a deal with the NZ government IIRC which lead to a lot of its proliferation. At one point I did an internal report on NZ government CMS vendors and it’s definitely up there with the regular players outside the NZ space.
In terms of inheriting a CMS 3 project you should do some research into the upgrade path to 4 which was one of my major projects at one point. It wasn’t fun at the time but it’s gotten a lot better and doing it with rector stuff will make stuff a lot easier. If you ask on the slack (worth joining and asking there for opinions on taking on the proj) someone will share the rector rules.
Still there is a significant amount of work to get from 3>4>whatever the latest is. So if the contract is dependant on that I’d be doing some research.
If you’re staying at 3 it won’t be too bad but I’d be ready to be really lonely in terms of support. There is still no doubt some massive players using 3 (at one point even eBay was a bit behind with something they had using it) but generally that’s a really old codebase so there may be nasties.

Yeah I might look down the shortcut route. I’m usually saving to a monthly playlist with a predicable name eg “September 25” etc so that could be automated. Thanks for the share <3
lkearney999
Yeah mainly annoyed with that menu size. That’s good to know about the long pressing on the minimised player thanks. Unfortunately the long press menu it has is one of those really annoying ones where the UI is inconsistent and you can click, hold then drag to add playlist and it requires a minimum of 3 taps to add. 1 for opening the menu, 1 for selecting add to playlist, 1 for selecting the playlist. I really don’t understand why Apple made two sorts of menus that do for the most part the same thing. Generally annoys me around IOS as well.

Oh google knew they just didn’t tell your home 😂

I’ve worked with code / electronics. I’ve yet to encounter a factory reset fixing battery life in an embedded style product like coros.
Sure this might work in run of the mill consumer hardware where unwanted services might consumer active cpu cycles but short of something being in powered memory (which is a coros fix) this should not have any impact here.

Can’t believe I typed that out without checking the GH link.. https://github.com/r-follador/CubeTrek/tree/14aaf591a056b616dd2bca232d668ff13cc31ab0/src/main/java/com/cubetrek/upload/corosapi
Still interested for comment if you have any <3

Random dead post question, is there any API documentation? I don’t really feel like building an integration if I don’t know what format I’ll be getting back. Is it proprietary, fit, tcx, gpx, how conformant is it with whatever formats it uses (eg coros training hub tcx export has speed as a non specified extension in an unusual format)?

I mean if none of the PCBs are damaged and the connector can be soldered that’s actually a pretty easy repair job.
Main thing would be finding where to solder the loose connection.

Yes exactly more mass will bring your VO2Max down but taller bodies are usually genetically predisposed to higher absolute VO2Max as a result, relative VO2Max is great for the kid since he is skinny on that frame. You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.
Yes Garmin may use running pace as one metric (although I can’t find them quoted on this) but it’s again probably relative. It’s the highest pace that you can sustain for a VO2Max velocity, again there are just too many biological differences to compare those paces, fitness over an aerobic distance like the “12+k” you cited or the 3-5 mi he cited are just too dependent.
lkearney999
Nope. That VO2Max seems normal if even a little low to me.
Volleyball is a high intensity sport, don’t discount young teens playing sports that just pickup running.
OP frequently does higher effort runs.
They’re 18 (in comparison). There are age classes for a reason.
They’re 6’2 and 170lbs, this would make such a massive difference for VO2Max it’s silly.
All y’all sitting out here comparing your paces are silly. Your aerobic muscular and metabolic systems can adapt to produce more energy with less oxygen intake. VO2Max is one indicator but it doesn’t not correlate with pace or running ability on its own.

Damn might rule out the breed for me, I live in Tasmania Australia (“losing your head” makes sense here!) and there is a lot of animals and wildlife that would trigger prey drive. Running these routes is already my routine so I’d have to find a breed that fits into it.
Thanks for answering my Qs!

I’m not as concerned about off leash behaviour as I am on leash, I wouldn’t really want to run/walk a dog off leash since I’d often pass through leash required areas. Are they liable to tug every single time when they see small prey even if they’re exposed to it every day and stopped easily?
lkearney999
Yeah Americans have such work/life balance /s

- Burning fat isn’t always the goal. I’m saying run threshold assuming the person is in reasonable shape proportion wise just that they’re unfit (lack fitness adaptions) to run.
- You will see more benefit out of steady state zone 2, sure as a beginner a base is probably worth more than higher threshold work, but it’s less about the metabolic adaptions and more the muscular ones starting out.
- No they’re not “different energy systems”, sure they’re slightly metabolically different but both are generally housed under the same aerobic “system”. The different energy systems stuff is quite “what about”ism since we’re biological beings and you’ll actually find you even eat into glycogen stores in zone 2 just at a very low rate. It’s not binary.
- Doubling while starting out is suicidal regardless of what zone you’re aiming for. I’m pushing threshold with large blocks of interspersed recovery.
- Perhaps to better explain what I’m getting at picture just telling someone to run as far as they can ignoring heart rate, for unfit people this will be threshold if they’re not stopping and starting. Unless you’re old you will get fit way faster this way. It shouldn’t really take more than a month or two to be able to run 10k. At that point is when I’d pivot to progressively overloading zone 2.
It’s more about having fun while starting and being able to learn a “decent” technique without ingraining shuffling.
lkearney999
Adam!!
lkearney999
Literally just moved the goalposts to cross training. Sure it works. Didn’t realise that’s what we were debating.
How much do you run again?
