thanks for the link to list, i definitely want to screen and internet to work :D
i move quite a lot so can't have a static computer (couldn't work in trains, planes, coffee shops and couldn't move it from office to home)
(edit: oof would be easier to have actual computer names :D, will look for that)
localhostdotdev
looked at them, also tried a few thinkpads previously
keyboards are good, just not as great as macbook's (pre-2016) ones, also has too many ports, and i don't want mate display, it's not made in metal, i don't like the logo, and foldable sounds cool but not sure i would use it (more likely a distraction and more likely to break), this combined with $~1000, which is okay but not for a plastic laptop
i don't think you read my post (i don't care about ssd/ram/etc.)
i see and understand that a lot of people like thinkpads, just not my cuppa tea.

on a "workstation", e.g. my personal and work computer
thanks, will definitely try TrueOS if FreeBSD is too complicated or doesn't work
localhostdotdev
i use:
```
!/usr/bin/env ruby
puts rand(10 ** (ARGV.first ? ARGV.first.to_i : 30)).to_s(16) ```
e.g. b3ed02b7aacf13bd637f51047
triple backtick support on old reddit? plz? :)
localhostdotdev
you can have rubocop already loaded in the background to make it faster, there is gem for that i saw a month ago or something
localhostdotdev
macos: plz don't, also we try hard to make sure you can't
localhostdotdev
you could use the env command too, e.g.
`env A=1 rake something`
localhostdotdev
good point :)
to be honest, i just like the name a lot :)
localhostdotdev
i actually renamed it text :) makes it even harder to find but that's not what i'm optimizing for, i'm optimizing for user-friendliness and simplicity.
(not to be confused with my recent joke post :) )
localhostdotdev
i guess i better start my own programming language design subreddit ("with blackjack and hookers" :) )
localhostdotdev
{IF TEXT | CONTAINS "https://discord.gg"}SPAM{ELSE}MAYBE NOT SPAME{ END}
localhostdotdev
ok then i guess i made the "canonical"/"reference" implementation and you made a faster alternative :)
this should be versioned so you are compatible with v0.0.0.1alpha1.dev@next :)
however it looks like your implementations are going to diverge :)
localhostdotdev
does this fix the binary files issue? :)
localhostdotdev
yup, definitely room for improvement in the parser code code size and the generated code in general
(you could host the code on gist, github, gitlab, pastebin, etc.)
localhostdotdev
maybe it's dead because submissions are closed?
also i'm subscribed to a community of 4400, 5 online, one of two posts per day and it's probably my favorite one, one post every week or month would be enough :D
localhostdotdev
*okay maybe not a bug, maybe it's just because i printed a large binary file and it messed up a few things, that's true too
about the "OC" flair, credits to Apple™️ too
localhostdotdev
i'm looking at you coffeescript...
We call it "logic-less" because there are no if statements, else clauses, or for loops. Instead there are only tags. Some tags are replaced with a value, some nothing, and others a series of values. This document explains the different types of Mustache tags.
template has very advanced logic (including custom logic)
{if user.location|eq current_location}{user.name} is here{else}{user.name} is somewhere else{end}
(this is from the new syntax i'm making, just an improvement over the current for tag opening and closing really)
localhostdotdev
that's a job for the interpreter / renderer, and yes it will have an html renderer with auto escape.
probably some helpers like escape_html, escape_javascript, and raw
i'm looking for something minimalistic, i don't play games, i don't do heavy stuff with gpu/machine learning etc., i use servers for machine-intensive tasks (like storing gigabytes/terabytes in a database, etc.)
someone linked to the hardware list, so i will look at those, maybe choosing a very simple machine could make it likely to be supported.
