For the sake of my math, if we assume an 8-hour work day and $8/hr, then for people to make the same amount, they would need to either work 10 hour days 4 days/week or businesses would need to raise pay to $10/hr.

That second option is what u/TheSacman is referring to.

And my own two cents: coming from a job where I worked 12hr/day, the end result for total stress in either case of increased hours or increased pay (regardless of which is preferable) would lower the stress felt by the individual, due to having an additional day between work weeks where you don’t need to be concerned with what will be happening at work the following day.

Yeah I drank a bit yesterday and tonight I slept maybe 4.5 hours. I’ve got a slight headache, but that’s nothing compared to the crash I’ll probably feel later
