Well, it surely had massive potential, and I think that's the sad part.

There's a big difference between something like Jynx and Cinderace. One is based on something that's originally humanoid, some mountain witch and ganguro girls, the other is supposed to be a bunny, but it looks like a human in a suit who's job is soccer. So not all humanoid Pokemon are equal. I don't think many people have a problem with Ceruledge, but many have with Quaquaval. The difference should be obvious.

So if this is true, it was a 5-year plan for Tencent after all... Well done ruining it this fast to make a quick buck. Man.

lukasmihara

There's enough AI slop in the eShop. I'f say no need for more creatively bankrupt plagiarism slop.

lukasmihara

It's quite the achievement to kill a Pokemon MOBA in only five years. Really quite the achievement.

Looks like TiMi/Tencent were just aiming for some short-term profit and didn't care about longevity or sustainability. This is the sad result.

lukasmihara

They're not the full picture. The math doesn't check out.

lukasmihara

Way to go TiMi. Wasted a game with such great potential for some quick money.

lukasmihara

I'd assume it's because Ali is denying any use of AI although he clearly uses it, so he's deceiving his audience - some of them paying money via e.g. patreon. Maybe Beaver found this dishonest behavior especially concerning. It wouldn't be that much of a problem, if Ali was honest about how he makes these videos.

Mit Betonung auf noch. Mal schauen, wann die nächste Erhöhung kommt

lukasmihara

Ironic. It's always better to underproduce and then gradually produce some more after that, than to overproduce and sit on stock that's just collecting dust. So they're doing their job just fine. "We didn't know we're that popular" might as well be just PR and them simply flexing.

lukasmihara

How would Switch2 Editions reduce new games? We'd simply end up with less games

lukasmihara

Similar to you: Metroid Dread / Prime Remastered look nice already, but could still get a bit of a boost. Also, not exactly 1st party, but Pokemon Legends Arceus and Pokemon Snap would be great and I think deserved.

lukasmihara

"relied heavily on dramatic narration and presented certain behaviours as facts" describes what Netflix etc. are doing very well

lukasmihara

I think it's a waste of a game with great potential for sure

lukasmihara

Well, it's not completely waste if you enjoyed playing

Thank you, I get the ikigai now 😅 I knew the word because I probably learned it for a test years ago or something, but missed all the content creator crap about this "ancient asian wisdom"...

I think there isn't much wrong with kintsugi though unless there's also some weird spritiual meaning attached to it in the west that I don't know of yet. Kintsugi, or the art of repairing things with laquer at least, is actually quite ancient - but I doubt the Japanese are the only ones repairing things. The gold looks neat though 🙂

lukasmihara

I'm quite behind on the videos etc. Could you kindly explain to me what happened with ikigai or even kintsugi?

lukasmihara

I think it's an unfair advantage. If it was an option one could simply turn on/off I wouldn't mind it. Same goes for e.g. the Exp-Share.

lukasmihara

I'll probably get my hands on it somehow, but it's still not a nice feeling when you (finally) want to buy something you've waited for (e.g. a Switch2 in nice colors), said thing starts preorders, and it's gone immediately, so you can't even buy it.

I've been patient for 1.5 years so I can be patient a little bit longer, but it's still stressful to constantly check for restocks, and a let down after the anticipation.

I'd love to get the Metroid 6 special edition, too, but there's no word about that.

I'm sure things will work out, but I'd still wish the experience was a little nicer for the fans

lukasmihara

That should fall under "hardware"

lukasmihara

Keine Chance hier gegen die emotionalen Schwurbler, die scheinbar nicht ohne ihre Cola überleben können

lukasmihara

The word "lazy" is so overused. I'm sure time restraints and outside inputs played a big role, too. It's not all 100% Koepps fault.

The reason for them going to an island doesn't make much sense, because they could've gone to that island anyways. I think it still makes more sense than Dominion though, with raptors swimming in ice cold water etc.

Maybe they'll do something nice with the story in thr next movie and "dinosaurs dying out outside if the tropics" isn't much of an issue anymore anyways. Hopefully without mutants as well.

lukasmihara

With the limited information we have, I think I'd take Winds, but it all depends on the Legendary and the other exclusive Pokemon

lukasmihara

"objektiv" deiner Meinung nach?

The classic arrogant reddit smartass starting and argument with a strawman. Ironic.

A trade/transaction has traditionally been an action decided by two parties. The company/seller with their product, and a consumer/customer who perhaps wants that product. Recently too many companies don't care anymore about things like the consumer or their satisfaction, private equity often does a great job there, making some short term gains before going bankrupt a few years later because their quality went down the drain. Nintendo doesn't only think short term and they obviously do care to bring us quality fun products - they don't have to be our friend for that. They simply need to consider other things besides pure greed when doing business. Consumer satisfaction seemingly still plays a somewhat significant role. Surely not every company operates in the exact same way, although that goes against what you call "truth". Some still care to some extend about things like making a quality product, long term consumer relationships, etc.
