I have a huge soft post for like 5 black keys songs. It is what it is

lying_tv

The first two Lady Gaga records for my mom, first Adel records for my dad.

I moved away, barely tried to reach out. In fairness neither did they. At this point I’m not sure how I’d even begin

Not exactly enemies but i love letting people i dislike fail on their own merits.

One time I worked in a kitchen with a boss who truly knew nothing about cooking. He tasked me to make Spanish rice one night, hovering over my shoulder during the arduous task of adding seasonings and tomato paste to rice. I just let him think he was being a good leader, I even played along. After adding the tomato paste I asked him if i should mix everything together, and he very confidently told me everything would mix naturally in the oven. I didn’t believe him but went a long with it since he’s the boss and must know more about cooking than me. In under an hour later our “mexican” meal was ruined thanks to our flag of japan looking ass spanish rice.

Another time when I worked retail I watched my manager completely brick a computer while trying to fix something on the register. I stood idly by and watched a 60 yearold woman single handedly shut down one of our 4 registers, cause she must know what she’s doing, she is the manager after all. It was kinda beautiful.

Used to fucking love this song. But if u listen to the instrumental in the chorus there is this fuck ass flute that sticks out like a sore thumb and now that i cant unhear that I enjoy this song a lot less

I agree with u but i also think this comes down to how certain european groups were treated in America when they first immigrated.

The people who try their hardest to claim their European heritage in the US (in my experience) come from either Irish, Italian, or Polish ancestry; and i think that’s because those groups of people were discriminated against in the United States to a certain degree. And like because they couldn’t integrate into American society they instead tried to hold onto their old culture/traditions and create community amongst themselves.

So like while there are certainly people trying to claim European heritage to understand where they come from and whatnot, i think that to some people their european heritage informs their American identity pretty directly if u understand what I mean.

Idk how to put this but i think it’s important to remember that in comparison to other countries America is like uber capitalist.

Im an American who’s living in europe and while the basic elements of capitalism are the same, but not nearly to the same level. Like europe certainly has its issues; but nothing like american medical debt, poor workers rights, non existent aid for childcare, etc.

Imo theres a level of desperation in the US that makes its citizens more hostile/competitive towards each other if that makes sense

I dont have any personal videos but i went to first wembley show and i remember it very clearly during the chorus of house of wolves and mama

Im 23 but I’ve always loved you guys! When i was younger i was so jealous that y’all got to go smaller shows or album release events or even like the warped tour lol. Especially if you had a whole emo friend group!

I got to go to the first london show and had a chat with a couple who i have to assume were OG fans, they were really lovely and i think its cool that we can all connect through music together. I for one look up to everyone who stays true to themselves, especially older alternative people. I cant wait to be one of you when i get older.

If some people think you’re cringe so be it, everyones entitled to an opinion even if it sucks and is stupid. At least its a good reminder to not care about what other people think. Rock on everybody!

lying_tv

Yes I noticed that too! I thought it made for a really cool experience

lying_tv

Cool! I’m glad to hear that the process wasn’t too bad for someone else, I need all the hope i can get lol

lying_tv

I do have my PSC, so I guess I’ll give it a try. Thanks a million!

lying_tv

Yeah i get you, it’s never a song that i go out of my way to listen to, but whenever it comes on i still listen to it

lying_tv

Okay cool! I’ve only started hearing it lately, but now I can’t un-hear it, good to know that I’m probably not losing it!

lying_tv

Dude I’m telling you! I stg there’s whispering in the mix

lying_tv

Oh fuck no way

That girl who makes tiny food for her hamster. She seems kind.
