I have a 4090 and still get pretty crappy performance in NMS when trying to run it in VR (which doesn’t even support OpenXR u think, just steamVR?).

I seriously doubt any standalone Android device could render it playable

Well we can practice now , actually. You have an old motherboard and CPU in a new case. Get a new-gen power supply (its generation is more important than its wattage limit, that’s the real reason people are often melting their graphics cards) and buy a new GPU. I would recommend a 40x0 generation and install it.

Then start saving, while enjoying your new GPU, for a new Motherboard and CpU. Probably new memory modules too (although I’m running DDR4 with 4 16GB DIMMs and I definitely do not feel like it’s not fast enough. You could go that route but you need to match all 4 dimms exactly) and maybe when Black Friday or after New Years, you make your move and buy and install that new stuff and now…you’re a real PC Gamer.

It’s fun really. Many of us enjoy building them as much as using them

Why would I give a fuck if you like or dislike a mod installed on a game we both own ?

I personally have never cared for the hundreds of Nexus Mods meant to enhance the boob size of all females in cyberpunk, but I’m glad some people like it and made it for themselves.

For 4 years I have been supporting Luke Ross and playing PC games modded for VR but without motion controls, and I also didn’t give a fuck what ‘the group’ of other gamer dudes thinks about it while I enjoyed hundreds of hours of gameplay.

I kind of care a little about what women think about my decisions in life, because I want to be loved by them, but I don’t give two shits what other dudes think about my purchases or preferences in cars, clothes, hairstyle, hobbies like games, nothing (unless maybe they’re my boss and paying me a salary)

That’s being a grown up.

My Porsche has polarized glass in the windshield. A problem that comes up is that when people need to replace their windshield, they don’t want to pay for the OEM glass with that feature and instead let third-party installers save them a bunch of money, never wondering why it’s so much cheaper

Therein lies the recurring issue. People who move out of the city to county land are usually trying to outsmart society by not paying city taxes and commuting instead. Then when natural disasters happen like floods or fires, there’s just state-level services to address problems across vast distances of rural and suburban stretches of land affected, and that takes weeks and months to eventually happen.

Even PG&E, a company making money to provide services, cannot stretch across entire areas to monitor or fix them in a timely and efficient way. It’s just not possible.

America is one of the only countries on earth (the UK as well? Netherlands?) where people actively move away from the city and all that it offers in services, opportunity, and education, etc. we just can’t stand giving back that money we make. “It will all get wasted on the poor!”, we say, like that’s all that matters.

People really don’t have to have an opinion about this. That includes the hundreds of “omg titanfall2 so amazing” posts. Nobody cares what you think and everyone should try every mod and see for themselves if they like or prefer it for their gaming.

I can answer that. Because there is only one server API endpoint. It’s better that the server be dumb and fast, and that each client do the work of filtering out the data it doesn’t need, rather than the alternative of any client being able to make the server work harder for their needs at the expense of its session bandwidth being exhausted by a single user.

I run a business with about 10 vehicles needing registration dealt with every year. I gave up on paperless. They’re just not very good at making it easier and I’ve found that simply cutting a check and mailing it with the envelope they provide is just infinitely easier and more reliable. It’s not even any slower , either!

marcocom

You’re doing this all wrong.

Gaming PCs are not meant to be owned for a decade without upgrading until you buy a whole other one to replace it. That’s treating them like a console which is cheaper and better value if that’s how you want to consume.

A gaming computer should get a new upgrade of at least one of its components every year. By five years later it should be almost entirely new with maybe the same case and power supply (although those need upgrading too for the latest GPUs)

Besides being a cost effective way to stay current, it’s also a fun hobby to open them up and upgrade them. You’re missing out on all of that besides the many games you’re missing out on because of that old and worthless PC you’re holding on to.

I don’t agree with any of these suggestions. I would keep secrets and mind my own personal business.

You have to live with these people for the next 50 years. They might be divorced or dead or remarried in that time, and they will be your family.

Don’t make a mistake that you will regret. It’s none of your business and you’re not in charge of this marriage or family just because you’re a child that they had together.

Don’t tell your mom you know, don’t tell you father, and focus on your life and school and plan to probably not have them staying married for long , and how you’re still going to be a family of adults for many years to come

I call all my female friends ‘girlfriends’ - they don’t seem to mind and I guess wouldn’t really care if they did. I do t really let people tell me what I can and can’t say

marcocom

i guess youre right. another commenter said they are even using cell-phone signal tracking

marcocom

It’s third person, right? That’s not usually great for motion controls

marcocom

It’s really pretty easy to open up and check for yourself. The cables connect inside the center console, under ashtray

marcocom

Thank you!! Every fucking thing is a challenge to open without it tearing, or like cold cuts that never seal again.

This actually tracks with what i have experienced when going to the east coast and Florida. theyre shit is almost as expensive (sometimes more expensive, even) while most of them arent making close to the same money for the equivalent work/skills.

marcocom

You’re right, but this is one of those things where I really wanted to find these but didn’t know what they’re called

marcocom

I go two-tone with my hardtop as well. I like the look.

marcocom

Those ambers just look so right on the white paint color

marcocom

There’s a decent chance you might not need lenses. I require glasses to read and see things up close, and I don’t need prescription lenses in the headset. (Although I did buy them with the blue-blocker and no correction. It helps with really long flight sessions in PCVR.)

marcocom

Ouch

You do know how insurance works, right? They’re going to ‘total’ it by paying you it’s depreciated market value. You don’t have to figure out how to sell it lol

marcocom

You can find a lot of them already built and sold on Etsy

Get up to Stinson beach for those roadside BBQ oysters
