I love Wildwood, and being from Portland it's even more enjoyable seeing it as a love letter to city, it's culture, and the awesome natural beauty that surrounds it.

That said, I still put Kubo above Wildwood by just a hair. The story is a touch stronger in Kubo and while the technical achievement that Wildwood has is greater than Kubo, that technical achievement is, as Laika themselves say, invisible. They work so hard so that you DON'T notice things, and they achieve that, but it definitely lessens the weight that the technical achievement holds when comparing the movies side by side.

Plus Kubo also has insane technical achievements as well.

Because Laika is a stop motion animation studio. They do it for the love of the game, not for profit.

It's funded by Nike money. If it had to sustain itself off it's own profits it would not exist.

I didn't think there was nearly as much blood as could have been.

The only actual blood I remember are from Prue scratching or cutting her hand 3-4 times, and in the end battle scene when Curtis has to save Prue.

Both of those did not show much blood at all.

And despite there being huge battle scenes, and scenes post battle with many dead, it isn't bloody. It's muddy instead, but not bloody.

I think an 11 year old can handle it just fine, and if they want to cover their eyes or leave, they can do that too.

It's showing on less than 3,000 screens. Gonna be hard to do well at the box office with that kind of distribution.

Yeah, while the idea of being able to completely ban 5* mods, or to even unmerge a 5* so you can get a second copy, basically gives end game players perma featured banner for a mod type.

If you want good damage, having half the epics you shatter be core mods, or if you want econ having half the epics you shatter be gens, would be a serious boost that puts those ahead further ahead.

Also, a little after my youth, but Antz is rated PG and one of the characters is decapitated.

Dark Crystal I was 6 for, and Watership Down younger.

E.T. is another one people say is traumatizing for kids, and I saw that in the theater when I was 5.

markevens

Me too, but only because I've been playing a long time and have all the old mods to 5*.

I think most players are not at that level.

markevens

I grew up with them. Saw Neverending story in the theaters when I was 7. I think My Girl is the only one where I was over 10 years old when I saw it.

Secret of NIMH they showed us in my 4th grade class.

markevens

The kids are fine, parents need to toughen up.

markevens

Mononoke is way more violent than Wildwood.

markevens

Kids can handle more than parents these days think.

I don't think protecting kids from every possible negative emotion is good for their development process. And the reality is the world is a violent place. There are many people willing to inflict violence upon others for their own greedy ends, and sometimes you have to stand up and use violence to defend yourself. I think kids are more prepared to handle this reality than most people give them credit for.

Growing up, there were many good movies that were made for children that had violence and moments of emotional trauma. Never-ending Story, Watership Down, Dark Crystal, Secret of NIMH, Where the Red Fern Grows, Transformers, All Dogs go to Heaven, My Girl. The list is long.

Movies made for kids, with violence and trauma, and yet they stand the test of time as good kids movies.

Mod banner by type was such a let down for most players. The odds of getting a copy of the mod you want was still incredibly low, even if you had a bank of gems saved up.

I think people liked the idea of it, but when the rubber hit the road it just didn't help the majority of players at all.

markevens

The guild season shop is ripe for this.

I think being able to buy (or craft with undesirable mods) a specific mod once per season would not be game breaking and give players a catch up mechanic on mods.

A specific mod once every 2 months would be a great work around for getting screwed by mod rng. And 16 months to guarantee an ancestral is not game breaking, but a good pace.

markevens

The first half of the season was disastrous for RB. Merc just had a vastly superior car in the new ruleset.

The fact that Max's exit clause triggered should say enough.

markevens

we are planning more Featured Module Banners that celebrate our existing Modules.

This would be fantastic, and long overdue.

We look forward to doing themed Module banners by type

These are incredibly lack luster and I highly suggest you do lucky or featured banners with old mods instead. The drop rates of desired mods during a type-banner is still so low that the majority of players will not get a single copy of a mod they want. I know it seems like a nice boost to the odds, but in the end most spend all their gems and don't get a copy of the mod they want, which leads to frustration. Please don't do this.

Anyway, thanks for the tea, even if there isn't a lot of info to pass on, the regular communication is still appreciated.

Benefit for long term players I guess

markevens

Yeah, I've got 3+ years of progress in the tower and enjoying high placement because of that. I can't imagine being a new tower player though, the tourney ladder is impossible to progress on without spending money, or just waiting for people to quit

markevens

Lots of tower migrants here. IOM is a great game, actually idle, no aggressive monitozation, chill community

markevens

Damn right I voted for Kamala. She is way more qualified than dementia don

markevens

What is DTS?

markevens

I mean, there are Trump voters out there

markevens

What is that overlay?

markevens

ST will give you better tourney results, but IS# is a massive quality of life upgrade with how much it shortens runs.

markevens

It does, stacked together it gives a massive damage debuff when combined with other damage reductions.
