I am not an OCLP dev or anything. But that looks a lot like a problem that would be fixed by following this advice: https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenCoreLegacyPatcher/s/XBSSHSL60I

Putting cigarette butts in a trash can requires making absolutely sure the thing is no longer lit; a dumpster fire generates paperwork and is likely to result in an enforced smoking ban. So they go on the ground, because people are lazy.

Some people will put their butts in a flame-resistant container, though, if there’s one readily available.

I know you’re looking for validation rather than a solution, and some people will still flick their butts no matter what. A ceramic pot or something might save you some work, tho

I can’t explain it

Okay, old FDISK wants cylinders rather than MB. But if 65 cylinders = 64MB, then each cylinder is around a MB. So any value greater than about 32 is going to fail. I don't know why "65" is failing in a different way.

Try it with 20 cylinders, just to see if I'm barking up the wrong tree.

DOS 3.x (with rare exceptions) cannot handle filesystems larger than 32MB.

The partition is getting written to disk, or you would not get that c: drive to format after a reboot.

Most likely the partition table is getting overwritten when you format c: because DOS can’t use filesystems bigger than 32MB at all and it’s doing dumb things with it.

Make a partition no larger than 31MB and see if it doesn’t work.

This appears to be fixed in 27.0.1

[EDIT: No it isn’t]

Bonjour Sleep Proxy could be a big help with this. I’ve been meaning to try it out (which is to say: I don’t actually know how well it works)

Robert Zemekis’s first thought was to have Doc Brown make a Time Machine out of a refrigerator rather than a Delorean, but changed it because he didn’t want to encourage kids to climb into fridges

I'm not the person you replied to, but I'm seeing 5-15 second delays on my M3 MacBook Air. Low power mode is turned off too. It also happens when moving the cursor to the top of the screen to get the menubar to appear when an app is full screen.

It's maddening!

Walmart doesn’t count. Walmart treats everyone like trash; there’s no point in trying to pretend to be better. It’s just… Walmart

A drive should only be set to “slave” if there’s a master on the same cable, so in the case of a cable with only one drive on it, it should be set to “master”.

How many times 2-sided cables have you tested? The cable may simply be bad.

[EDIT: ….because the third connector should not be necessary, and I’ve never seen such or heard of such a thing before. Something somewhere is faulty, ‘cause that’s not the way it’s supposed to work.]

A WiFi camera won’t work in a walk-in — it’s basically a faraday cage. Not that this will stop Miranda from buying one, then shrieking like a child again when it doesn’t work.

Honestly I’m more concerned about the number of people ITT that it seems have never tried to use their phone in the walk-in. Like, never? Or are we just whipping our phones out on the line these days?

The creation of USB was driven in the beginning by a need for a “plug-and-play” way for people to add modems to their PCs. Everyone wanted to get the Win95 PCs they’d bought only a year or two ago on the Internet but installing an internal modem was beyond the skill of the average Joe, and external modems connected with a serial cable had to be expensive “hard” modems.

But by the time the hardware and software for USB became common, most consumer computers came equipped with V.90 modems and broadband was beginning to become widely available. So USB modems were rare and had thin profit margins — it’s not surprising they were crap.

But lots of early Cable and ADSL terminal adapters used USB until WiFi became a thing — and we came to call them “modems” anyway. 🤷
