There is a class of people that is perhaps best described as sympathetic but still incapable of empathy. Like the people who will see a homeless guy in the rain so drops a fiver in his lap to get a cup of coffee, but are ignorant to the systemic effects about how he can’t get a job without a bank account, can’t get a bank account without a mailing address, etc.

These people see queer members of their family and/or community and see their struggles and feel bad, but they cannot imagine what it’s like to actually live such a life, and completely fail to make the direct connection between who they vote for and why those they care about are struggling.

Did some research and holy crap you’re right. Brendan McCarthy was the primary production designer on the show and drew the Megabyte truck that lead to this episode, and indeed co-wrote Fury Road with George Miller.

Yes, I don’t mean to imply Pixar wasn’t fundamental to the industry too (I know of at least one mathematical algorithm named after an early Pixar employee) just that Mainframe deserves the recognition too.

Not to knock Bad Bob because it’s an amazing episode, but Mad Max came first in 1979. Bad Bob was largely a reference to Mad Max.

They had Reboot out in 1994 on a TV budget while Pixar was still working on finishing Toy Story with Disney money.

Canada still has primarily CCS1 (newer chargers are CCS+NACS, older CCS+CHAdeMO). It’ll be years before NACS becomes the de facto standard.

J.K. Rowling’s childhood home is Church Cottage in Tutshill, Gloucestershire, England.

If your house has a name, you are not “middle class” by any usable definition.

It’s even worse. The restriction is about number of times elected, not terms served. If he did win in 2020 that means he wasn’t allowed to run in 2024.

I’m in the unfortunately complicated position where I agree wholeheartedly that the hairless beauty standard is pedophilic and oppressive, but also completely despise body hair on both myself and any partner. I suppose the difference is whether you’re doing it for yourself/someone important to you versus satiating a society that still won’t appreciate you even if you comply.

Given the mention of cops, I’m betting when pushed he would reveal his views are more feudal-capitalist, whereby people are serfs to corporations who also control law and law enforcement (which is just tech bro 101 these days).

As a Newfoundlander, my time in Europe kind of suggested the exact opposite, that a lot of Irish appreciate some of the core culture that Newfoundland has maintained.

Though I also appreciate that there certainly there is a fine line to be drawn from Irish Newfoundlanders and Irish New Yorkers.

Money laundering is about hiding the origin of money. The origin of the money here is quite clear, the people who pay for it. This is just a run of the mill con job.

Musk is like Sawyer from Lost if Sawyer was not charming, unattractive, unsympathetic, a coward, bad at nicknames, and didn’t use the money he stole to give his kids a better life.

That was just an example, Apple Silicon is not unique. I imagine the same is true of many ARM-based GPUs, considering that’s what they had in mind for the subpass system.

mb862

However, in d3d12 no barrier is required, so it makes you wonder why vulkan requires it.

Vulkan supports more device classes than D3D12. Apple Silicon for example requires a barrier (Metal fence) in this case.

Ironically modern research is increasingly suggesting that our brains are sexually dimorphic, not enough that there’s any suggestion of cognitive differences, but that trans people are often shown to have the brain sex consistent with their identified gender. So one can imagine future medical technology that can recognize and correct the body sex at birth, something a lot of trans people would admit would’ve been far preferable (disclaimer: myself included).

However such a brain sex interpretation of gender dysphoria would mean that trans people are a subset of intersex people, a group for whom at-birth “corrections” are applied all the time and too often we get it wrong. Though that said maybe we wouldn’t with a reliable test for brain sex and positive proven outcomes, as the film may unintentionally suggest.

For a country that claims to be built on democratic law and order, it’s dumbfounding the absolute scale of corruption and harm the American people has let the Republican Party get away with. Kings throughout history have been beheaded by the people for far less.

Agree with this. As a lesbian V I almost considered throwing him a sympathy bone just to show appreciation for being a good uncle.

I got launch day pickup but my “local” Apple Store (which is a whole province over) is probably their least trafficked worldwide.

mb862

Whoops typo. Yes I meant My Super Ex-Girlfriend.

mb862

Nobody mentioning My Crazy Super Ex-Girlfriend? Loved that movie, Anna at the end was like literally my transition goals.

Edit: I meant Super. Typo consequence of recently discovering Crazy.

mb862

I (trans woman) agree as well. It would be one thing if neopronouns were being adopted from marginalized cultures with legitimate third genders (which they’re not) or if English lacked non-gendered singular pronouns (it doesn’t).

I’m convinced house hippos are at least partially responsible for the variance in pro-/okay-with-fascism rates between Canada and US.

mb862

I somehow remember that crossover specifically despite not being a particularly fan of either show.

So that sounds closer to one of my best friends. He’s a cis man but has been a staunch ally, one of the first people I ever came out to, but recently he’s started expressing thoughts about being agender. That as he reads people’s experiences with gender, cis and trans and nonbinary alike, he’s realizing more and more he just completely lacks those feelings entirely.

To be honest, I kinda feel like a 12 year old boy trapped in a 24 year old woman’s body, but that feels weird to type out.

I’m definitely biased but I think this is a perfectly valid feeling. Personally I really do feel like a petite 14 year old girl trapped in a tall/broad 40 year old trans woman’s body. One could argue that maybe it’s just a consequence of having missed out on essential experiences growing up, but at the same time I have no desire at all to actually re-socialize as a 14 year old. I just have this internal image of ideal self that I can’t shake, but if our wishes come true and we all could just magically be exactly who our subconsciouses say we are, then I’d still be going about my adult life dealing with that inescapable awkwardness.
