"Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth, yada yada yada, put out my hand and touched the face of God."

Angus is young and strong and rambunctious. I'm the opposite. The third time he pulled me off my feet I started calling him Anus.

If you ask me.
Corsi boxes reduce resistance but The bearings on my fans measure about 5° higher with a single filter than without one.

A 20" box fan and a 20x20" merv-13 filter with charcoal.
$50, removes odors, lasts a whole season.
Someone will call this "disposable", not "BIFL" but I'm using a couple of old box fans 10-15 years old.
I buying new ones and giving them to relatives and friends whose air I have to breathe.
300 CFM, removes VOCs and odors, new filter $25.

I have the Rubbermaid version from 1995. I replaced a wheel ($30) and the plastic got brittle so I reinforced all the cracks by pouring epoxy inside and letting it set at the right angle.
Should be good for another lifetime.

In 1936, Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal paid people to do this in Appalachia.
In "The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek" Kim Michele Richardson tells the story.

Curious me, I looked up the translation to Spanish - d'oh.

Yeah, I prefer HnH with its natural fats and oils and flavorings plus hormones too!
Not /s, I really like HnH. I use it in cereal and don't buy milk.

"People" can call it anything but businesses have rules. Starbuck's employees have so many varieties and trademarks it's almost all Frappacino or espresso or mocha or latte. Their code for plain brewed coffee is "Pike Place."

Normal people have floaters. Floaters and the retina are heavily isolated from the outside world.
Even an acid burn wouldn't disturb the retina unless there's some physical impact or previous defect, or you start rubbing vigorously.
17% salicylic ain't mediocre, but acid rinses well if you handled it right, and you did great and saved yourself a lot of pain.
Everybody has floaters, even young when they start to increase. Finding your first one is memorable. But true floaters are always physical so they behave differently than retinal or optic nerve vision problems, which are neurological.

Do you drink the same water?
If it's safe to drink and you have no discharge or redness, the doctor visit is probably wasted.
What would you want the doctor to do?
Not many germs can infect the eye if your epithelium is intact. If you were rubbing or irritated, be more alert to discharge, foreign body sensation, or sensitivity to light. THEN you have a reason to go.
If you wake up the next morning without any symptoms, I think it's ok to wear a new CL and just keep alert. Leave it off another day if it's easy. It depends on the water quality and your eye health. Lake water and natural streams aren't guaranteed to hurt you but soft contacts are like putting a cover on a petri dish.. germs love a warm mucus-y surface with a protective membrane so it never gets blinked clean.

Ischemic optic neuropathy also occurs without diabetes, and proliferative diabetic retinopathy is a far more common cause of blindness in DM.

Acorn TV is a bottomless well of these, for $10/mo. And if you don't mind subtitles, it doubles the available library of police procedurals. I'm fond of Silent Witness, Hinterland, Engrenages, Professor T, Tatort, and Murder In.

Neuropathy attacks the optic nerve, ultimately leading to blindness.
Neuropathy attacks the peripheral nerves. Retinal blood vessels grow new branches that break and bleed and scar. Scars blind you. That's retinopathy.
On high it's about 900 cfm. Even on low (300) it's 5-10 times the volume of a wimpy little hepa purifier. Five passes thru a 60% filter is just as good as one pass thru a 95% industrial hepa. In a given size room they're break-even for efficiency.
Don't really have to build anything.. slap the filter on the back of the fan and turn it on. It will stick. Nowadays I use pliers to nip a notch out of the two plastic feet so the filter sits in an anchored spot. Then a short piece of gorilla tape hold the top in place.
