There is fiber with nonmetallic armor such as kevlar.
megared17
Armored is fine, the equipment at each end will still be isolated.
The only time you have to avoid metallic armor is if the fiber is in the same run as electrical/power cabling.

Buy a premade patch cable of suitable lenght.
megared17
Keep in mind that most "HDMI over Ethernet" adapters do not use actual Ethernet signalling, let alone networking - they required a dedicated cable that isn't used for anything else or connected to any router or switch, etc.
Are you looking to install a cable in walls or conduit, permanently or semi-permanently Or even semi-permanently? If so, it should be solid conductor cat6, and it should be punched down to JACKS, NOT have plugs crimped on.
If this is just a patch cable you're running along the baseboard or somthing, get a factory made patch cable (these will always be stranded) of a suitable length. DO NOT try to cut and reterminate it, just coil up any slack somewhere convenient.

Which exact model of modem/router do you have from them (Also the company is Comcast - "Xfinity" is just a marketing name)
megared17
You are more likely to get specific useful advice if you mention:
- Who the ISP is, whether its fiber, cable, DSL, or something else - and what speed/plan you have.
- What the exact brand and model of the ISP provided device(s) (modem, router, or combo) you currently have as well as any non-ISP provided networking device(s)
You should also try to connect as many device as possible/feasible, via Ethernet to the LAN of your router - save WiFi for things that either cannot connect Ethernet, or that need to be mobile, like phones, tablets, etc.

Using a combo cablemodem/router as an AP is a terrible idea. And may not even be possible depending on what settings it even allows.
It may not support disabling its internal DHCP as you would want for an AP.

There is no legitimate reason to do anything other than click/tap "reply to author" - your reply will automatically be anonymized and sent back to whatever email account they used to reply.
They are trying to get you to reply outside craigslists email relay directly to that email address, so they can get your direct email address to send you further messages that avoid craiglist's scam filters, and also so those messages can't be flagged for craiglist to block.

I would never willing use such an Internet connection. Always my own, thank you.
With the possible exception as an emergency temporary backup
megared17
Probably a poor way of identifying it as the 5Ghz band.
megared17
You don't need phone sockets or a 5G modem. You just need an Ethernet cable. Plug one end into Ethernet port on printer, plug the other into a LAN port on your router.
The cable can be up to 300 foot long if needed.
megared17
Connect it via Ethernet instead.
If it doesn't have Ethernet, it's a POS. WiFi is for mobility. Most people don't carry printers around in their pocket.
megared17
Use a separate steaming device that feeds using HDMI to the TV, instead of the TV's built in apps.
megared17
My advice would be to stop using combo modem/router devices, and instead get a suitable standalone modem, to which you connect a standalone suitable router, to which your connect your devices.
megared17
Unless you are VERY confident what you are doing, you know exactly what you have, where, and how it connects, then when ordering Internet service, you should always choose "technician install" and not "self install"
megared17
jacks not plugs
megared17
Identify what ISPs service your area (if in the US, search for "FCC broadband map") contact them, compare rates, and subscribe to your own Internet service. Be sure to opt for their technician to come connect and activate it, do NOT choose "self install" - and BE there when their technician comes.
Once it is connected and working, ignore the "free WiFi" provided by the landlord.

Ethernet cable from the router to the APs.

Have you taken him to vet to check to see if there might be a health reason?
Are you ending the play session with letting him "catch" the toy, and then getting something to eat?
Consider putting food in puzzles for him to play with to get it out of.
Consider getting him a cat wheel (note that it might take a some time before he goes on it, especially on his own)

I hope you'll keep her babies indoors and safe. Aside from poisoned rodents, there are other predators, abusive people, and all manner of other hazards.
megared17
They make "puppet toys" you wear on your hand specifically made with thick material so you can give them the play wrestle with protection from scratches

For one thing, hopefully she doesn't want to give any of them to anyone until they've spent a good 8 to 10 weeks minimum with their mom. They need to nurse, they need to learn important cat things from mom and their siblings, etc.
Look for the "kittenlady dot org" website - it has LOTS of information on caring for kittens. It focuses on rescuing very young kittens that have been separated from or lost their mother, but there's still good info for older kittens as well.
If you can, adopt TWO siblings together, because then when you are away they can keep each other company and they'll always have someone to play with even when you can't. (If there's an odd number, the ideal case would be the odd one out would stay with its mom cat. Or maybe someone takes 3)
megared17
When cats in the wild do their business, they are vulnerable to predators. In cat colonies, the other cats help "guard" - she's just doing the same for you. Accept it.
megared17
You made a mistake when you chose "self install" call back and tell them that, and let them know you need their technician to connect and install.
Does the fiber from the ISP connect directly to your router? Or is there some other device, like an ONT or ONT/router combo? What is the exact brand and model of that device?
If that device is an ONT/router combo, have you tried connecting your PC directly to one of its LAN ports via Ethernet and do a speed test that way?
