I think we are just at peak right now in Sparta maybe a bit past if the trees in my yard are an indication, lots of bare branches showing.

Woody has never been involved with the business. He just got the money from grandpa or great grandpa.

Woody isn't cheap and he does invest, he is apparently just a dork that people don't want to work for.

Yeah I was there about 25 years ago and the video display that they had going on that then opens up to a live view of the mountain was wild

The tones are GEC. RCA parent of NBC was a subsidiary of General Electric, RCA was sold off because of anti trust considerations and then GE reacquired NBC in the 1980s

The Moas had never encountered a predator as efficient as a human. Dodos also large island birds were similarly wiped out after human contact.

Same for most of the islands in Polynesia. Hawaii and Easter Island are about as remote places as there are on Earth. People didn’t make it to Australia until what? about 50k years ago and the Americas debatably between 15 and 35k years ago . And those land masses are relatively close to Eurasian continent.

I always thought vidrio was Spanish for glass not Vera-Tucker.

right now our only customers that are really growing are the ones supplying construction materials to AI build out or doing work on chip manufacture. Everyone else is down, some are down 20-30 percent over last year.

Having been a TA for an entry-level chem lab almost 50 years ago, my experience was that we were there to supplement the professors and help them grade and make sure the kids didn't kill themselves. Having watched my son go through university, a substantial number of his non-engineering core courses were taught by grad students, not even adjuncts. While he was a TA in grad school, his experience was similar to mine, though he worked in a computer science lab helping the students with homework problems and grading papers

I know I am going to get down voted but if your major ends in the word studies you are most likely wasting your money. Too many useless degree programs.

All the useless administrators who are supposed to keep their eyes on things but just take up space. The more mandates the government puts on schools, the more non-teaching staff they hire. Dean for everything, chair for the department of useless degrees, etc. And then there is the outstanding football program.

Well videotape had not been invented yet(1956 was the first practical device). Shows were either filmed and broadcast or live and broadcast. Some shows were preserved by filming a video screen of the live broadcast. I think that is called a kinescope

That fucking Sasson Jeans ad. I remember being at a game when the team hit a bad patch and the crowd started singing Ooo LaLa you suck. Gotta love the old blue seats.

Yeah, my run-of-the-mill Callaway driver, which I bought last year, was around 600. It's a nice club, but my game barely justifies that much. Luckily my swing speed has dropped down so I no longer need stiff or extra stiff shafts extra expensive shafts. Getting old has some benefits, I suppose. I tend to shop the pre-owned demo clubs, though. Picked up two Callaway Apex titanium hybrids as demos for the price of one new.

I think so. it looks like he was trolling the refs that day.

I will differ with you on showering and water resistance. It is not the flowing water that can penetrate the watch. It is soapy water which now has lower surface tension and by its nature wets out and penetrates hydrophobic surfaces, which can increase the likelihood of water seeping into a watch. Temperature also causes cases and seals to expand and contract ever so slightly at different rates.

I agree with you overall except a 700 dollar set of clubs these days isn't anything special

that is correct I never said it would help kid's succeed to have phones in school.

Not expecting parents to do anything except have an idea that their kid is out and safe.

The only domesticated animals north of Central America were dogs and turkeys. So. America had Llamas, alpacas, and guinea pigs. Not too many so-called beasts of burden.

you want the teacher to call 20 phone numbers during an emergency? this isnt a perfect solution but if you want kids to have access to parents in case of a real emergency then this is a decent compromise.

Then the school has overly lax access policies on its firewall/network.

I was dead set against our son having a phone until they had an emergency at the school and we had no idea if he was safe or not. If the tech exists to disable apps without compromising the ability to make call in a true emergency, I see no issue with it. Calling to find out what they want for dinner yeah we can do without that.

But people who write laws regulating and banning things don’t understand the distinctions. The regs will ban and control data centers and then lawyers will waste taxpayer money fighting the poorly written regs.
