I can't connect either. First time I've decided to fire up the printer in months and I can't use it because Bambu's infrastructure is shit. Can't even do LAN mode because I don't have a spare SD card...

Welcome!

There's a lot to learn in the world of cannabis, but don't worry too much, the doctor will walk you through everything and answer any questions you have during your appointment. They'll recommend the treatment option they think is best, but it's good to know what your options are.

All the clinics have pretty similar treatment options - the most common are oils and flower, but there's also concentrates (aka carts), and I think some clinics offer topicals too.

Oils are cannabis extracts mixed with an edible oil. This is often recommended for newcomers because it's well tolerated and easy to take. You just put few drops of a pretty mild flavoured oil under your tongue and it'll slowly start to take effect.

How long it takes to kick in varies from person to person, but for me it's similar to how long something like a paracetamol takes - about 30 mins or so. How long it lasts depends on how strong it is, and how fast your body processes it.

There's a range of different strength oils available, and the right strength for you will depend on your health condition and how your body handles cannabis. More than likely, you'll be started on a low dose of oil to see how you find it.

Flower is also very common. This is what people usually think of when they think of cannabis. It's classic "weed" - the flowers/buds of the plant, either whole (which you'll need to grind yourself) or pre-ground.

Although smoking weed is the stereotype, medical cannabis has to be vaporised. This is because vaping extracts the beneficial chemical compounds without creating the toxic ones found in smoke.

You take some ground up flower, put it in a dry herb vape, let it come up to temperature, and inhale it.

Flower is much more immediate than oil, and takes effect pretty much right away. I personally prefer flower for this reason, but the trade-off is that the effects generally don't last as long as oils do.

Usually, the choice between oil and flowers comes down to what you need from the medication and your personal preference. Try both and see which you prefer.

If you are considering going for flower, don't forget to consider the cost of a vape too. If you can afford it I'd strongly recommend buying a good quality vape. They can be expensive, but you really do get what you pay for. It's a worthwhile investment imo.

Concentrates are highly concentrated liquid cannabis extracts, which come in ready to go vape carts. These are less commonly prescribed because they're very high strength. Unless your condition really calls for it, you won't get this.

Lastly is topicals, which are cannabis infused skin creams, sometimes used for people with conditions such as arthritis. These are less common, and I don't know if all clinics offer them.

If you want to take a look at all the different available medications there's a site called medbud.wiki which has everything listed.

I hope you find some relief with medical cannabis, and don't be shy if you have more questions! This sub is generally a nice community and there's lots of good info available if you spend some time searching through :)

This is what I've never got about the "Alcohol companies don't want it to be legal" argument. If there was that much profit to be made, they'd be diversifying their investments and investing in it and keeping the profit themselves.

They are. Coors started investing in cannabis based beverages several years ago. I'd be very surprised if others haven't followed suit in some regard.

Fodmap is hard, I've been on it for a while now. Once you've got the hang of things it gets a bit easier though and it all becomes second nature :) definitely give it another crack!

If you need any help on it /r/ibs and /r/fodmaps are both great resources!
