I'm not the OP. My use case is mostly file storage and was some linux iso downloads but I have all I need on that front now. So think a few minor docker apps and file share and the ability to do a lot more if I want.

mlloyd

In fairness, I asked them for their reason. I have a Unraid server in mothballs that I need to power back up or move to something different so I was curious.

mlloyd

I’d ditch unraid if starting again and use something like Debian with zfs anyraid

Why?

mlloyd

Take that Take that

Bruh!

mlloyd

Thank you!

It’s asymptomatic normally but at altitude the symptoms can become very problematic very quickly. I played college football in Colorado with sickle cell trait around the same time.

Yeah, my cousin died of Sickle Cell Anemia - the full disease - and the pain I watched him endure was horrible. Remember reading as much as I could about it as he was my favorite cousin. Read similiar things to what you just said about the trait.

mlloyd

I don't think they were gonna leave him there until the clot cleared up.

They could have changed the travel plans to make shorter hops with layovers. London to Iceland, Iceland to Greenland, Greenland to Canada, Canada to the US. Each of those legs is only 3ish hours which is much safer than an up to 5-8 hour flight back from London.

Also, he's rich. He can just hangout in Europe for a week or two until it's safer for him to fly.

mlloyd

Yeah because the last time he played at Mile High with his sickle cell trait he almost died

Which is crazy because sickle cell trait is mostly asymptomatic. So no way in hell I'd sign off on him playing there again either.

You should have higher standards

You should stop being lazy with your thinking.

Much like hoping for social change from billionaires, you’re going to be disappointed.

Except I don't hope for social change from billionaires. I'm just happy for Black billionaires who made it - especially when they came from the projects like Jay-Z or an upbringing like Oprah had. Society is designed to prevent this outcome - it happened anyway.

Assuming you get past that first gate, society is designed to capture most of the upside from our talent and labor - they defied that too.

I'll share your opinion on Black billionaires when we get rid of all the white billionaires first. There are way more of them and they've been around for far longer and caused much more harm.

Ring me when that happens and I'll join you in the street calling for everyone else to go the same way.

mlloyd

Don’t say that. You’re tilting at windmills.

Meh. I was hoping for something more substantial as a reply.

mlloyd

Right. Black folks should be the only folks who reject capitalism and wealth creation on moral grounds while watching capitalism mint old white billionaires by the truckload. No thanks. I'm not buying what you're selling.

Being poor isn't a virtue. Once you get rid of all the old white billionaires and that legacy wealth advantage, I'll see if I can find some contempt for the new money Black billionaires who came from nothing in places that were engineered to keep them there. But not before.

I have a theory that DJ Moore had a big influence on Rome when he came in as a rookie.

Yeah - he drew all the CB1 coverage. 😂 Harder to look good when you're the guy teams are scheming against as the WR1. Though, that might be Burton now.

mlloyd

I just don’t like any billionaires, especially one who will sell out a protest movement for a paycheck.

I'll take a billionaire who came from the projects. You have no idea how hard that is to achieve. The thought that he needs to be poorer to be admired is dumbAF. He did what the world told him he couldn't, coming from a place where he was far more likely to be dead before 21 than earning a million dollars - fuck a billion.

Nah. I'm good with this. Give me a billionaire rapper from the projects over all these old white folks anyday.

Saying "nobody wants this" about one of the most popular artists of all time is pretty hilarious. You don't want this but many will be stoked

Exactly. It says a lot about the demographic of this sub vs the outside world.

mlloyd

I really liked the recent trend of choosing artists that were popular this decade.

Jay-Z is still popular this decade. To the extent his popularity has diminished any, it's because he stopped recording rather than people stopped wanting him to.

mlloyd

We've been bad. Like REALLY bad at times but we've been bad in better ways. We weren't sitting on awesome coaches and let them go - we simply hired bad coaches other than Lovie and Ben. 😂

mlloyd

Bro that's an all-time head coaching fumble right there. I didn't think it got worse than what I knew about Washington. Fuck.

mlloyd

"This official team likes to throw flags" or something like that was said by the announcer team.

mlloyd

Yeah, but if he doesn't step up this game - it's a lot closer before then. And he hardly ever fumbles.

mlloyd

We didn't re-sign our INT machines because they can't play coverage. So now we have a secondary that can't play coverage or get INTs. But we won so fuck it.

mlloyd

This is one of the best 0-5 teams I've ever watched. I can get his exasperation. This team SHOULD be winning on paper, they just aren't. Part of it is Herbert being a TO machine and not nearly as good as he was in the past it seems.

mlloyd

He was fucking terrible last year and doesn’t seem to be fixing those mistakes this year.

In fairness, last year was a clusterfuck. It's hard to make good decisions inside a clusterfuck.

mlloyd

I know! That's where my brain went!

NFC tags are the solution. Or QR Codes. Tap the tag or scan the QR code and then an automation gets triggered that broadcasts "We're out of napkins!"
