I believe Ethan Peck is also often referred to as “Sexy Spock,” so…

Possibly the best piece of theatre I’ve ever seen. Sat in the banquettes on stage, it was amazing. It was after Oak joined (he was…fine. Pretty good, I suppose. Dust and Ashes was nice). And Ingrid Michaelson as Sonya (I really enjoyed her performance). But man, just an incredible experience.

Came here to say this. I saw Jennifer Lewis as Motormouth and the walls SHOOK, both during the song and the extended ovation at the end.

Phillipa Soo (credited as Pippa Soo) as The Leading Player in her high school production of Pippin. She was either a freshman or sophomore (I was a senior, her school brought the show to our state theatre fest). It was obvious then she was going to be a star.

Sean Hayes and Tony Goldwyn in the “Promises, Promises” revival had a gag where Sean fumbles with a pen. And, for whatever reason, it just really tickled them that day and they broke and giggled. Recovered quickly, but it was a fun moment.

Have you ever hosted“Bad Movie Nights?” Or some kind of like “themed” movie nights?

I actually had a little interaction with Josh about this! I use Orzo, because it’s pasta/rice. Best of both worlds. He liked the idea (though he did point out orzo is technically Greek).

Spelling Bee was conceived by most of the original cast’s troupe, I believe. Not composers, but “creators.”

mrjamato

Thank you! I tried that and it seems to have solved it.

mrjamato

Awesome. Thanks!

Would have been late December/early January.

That’s my family and I introducing the Wheel of Mythicality! Road-tripping back to the Midwest from the Memphis area, saw a Bojangles and knew we had to stop and make a vid!

Raphael Adolini 1715. I know it isn’t ska-specific, but that is 100% a ska bad name, and I’d go see them real quick.

Skanked in Mud (you know, cause they cake themselves in mud to hide from thermal?)

My son said we should call ours “Tom” as in Cruise.

Saw AC/DC maybe 15 years ago or so now. They almost certainly used a click. Before every song they’d sort of huddle back and bob to a count-in (and not Phil clicking the sticks, he just sort of bobbed along with them). And with all the lights and pyro that show had, like others said, they had to be synced up.

Definitely something to think about for the future. No budget to get more mics for this production.

mrjamato

I hadn’t thought about adding a little delay to even out the reverb in the space. That’s a good idea, at least to try. Thanks!

Yeah, it’s more that of the 9 cast members, 6 are giant voices that absolutely don’t need reinforcement, and 2 (and really only sometimes) need the bump. I’m going to move them a little more on stage, rather than hanging at the edge, and make sure they’re aimed right where those folks need the bump. And then probably just leave them off for most of the show.

mrjamato

Yeah, I know it’s basically a losing battle. Just curious if someone had ideas to make the best of a bad situation.

mrjamato

I’ll talk with the MD about dropping the level of that one song. And I’ll start trying to scrounge up some dough for some shotgun mics (I almost speced them for this company, but I knew it would be out of the budget at this point).

mrjamato

Yeah that’s what I’m afraid of. It might be a “turn a few knobs and slide some faders (that didn’t do anything) and ask if they hear the difference” situation. They always hear a difference…
