Why attack a group of people when it was one person doing this and you have no idea about their employment situation
They could be a billionaire for all we know. They tend to have a lot of free time to make others miserable.
mxlila
I don't think they actually spend a lot of time together...
But even if two people can't stand each other (or one the other, doesn't always need to be mutual) - that's common in every workplace.
Doesn't mean you're going to throw a tantrum. Most adults just... Complain about it in private, that's it.
mxlila
Neither of them is biased enough to be delusional

Hm, Irvine got beat by MSC, I wonder why he'd glaze him
Barichello was literally not allowed to finish higher than Schumi, not to mention that all development, settings and tyres were aligned with Schumi's preferences only
That said, I can accept that he was better than Häkkinen, Coulthard and Montoya most days.

I find it difficult to cope with Toto's interviews
mxlila
Hijacking the guy you just ran off the track in the middle of an interview in front of the camaras to say "hey I don't know what happened now hug me or you'll look like a dick" is not owning anything.
It's super rude and manipulative.

You usually can't read other people's private messages, and that's where the threats are, according to their statements.
If you haven't sent any of them, you're obviously not responsible and no one is criticizing you. Briatore also didn't say "Argentinian fans". He called out "the fans who send threats".

Education and work experience can be obtained for free for most people with a strong passport.
What you do need is a source of income to pay for food and rent. Many have parents or scholarships for that purpose, others may need to work, but work experience is also not detrimental to career development.
None of this is different for F1 careers compared to other industries.

When has he called fans stupid?
If his opinion (possibly supported by data) is that most fans don't care about super clipping, where is he treating long-term fans (who are more likely to care about super clipping, according to reddit) poorly?
What he's saying is that many fans are just looking for entertainment, without caring about the deeper background to what's happening and why.
That's a reasonable stance to hold IMO, and not insulting or whatever.
He has also expressed awareness about other fans, but we're either not the majority or not the fans he wants to focus on, for whatever reason.
I mean, I've been following the sport for more than 2 decades and haven't spent a single euro on it. I am also not impacted by any sponsoring. Why would they care about me?

On track, people cheered mostly for Alonso and Colapinto.
There were quite some Williams/Sainz fans but I didn't hear any roars or applause for him. Might have been a lack of performance from his side though.
But yeah just wanted to confirm that lots of Argentinian fans were on site.

There are multiple ways to make one car better than the other, and it can happen both intentionally and unintentionally.
The prime example of unintentional differences is what you find at Haas. Sure, they give priority to Bearman because of their contract with Ferrari, but they have a quality issue which means not every part is the same, even though they ordered the same part.
We've seen 2 factual differences between the 2 Mercedes car this season.
new engine: a new, fresh engine is better than a used one. So whenever a car got a new one, like Antonelli in Monza (where it matters more than anywhere else), it's an advantage.
engine software: during multiple races, we saw Russell's car being unable to achieve the same speed, or deploy the same amount of battery as Antonelli's car. While Toto blamed the driver, after a few races Mercedes found it was a software issue and fixed it.
There are other ways by which you can prioritize one car/driver over another, namely race operations.
strategy: this includes faster and/or fresher tyres, which comes down to pit stop priority and luck (ie if you're in a pit stop window during a safety car period)
race control: mostly the engine modes they ask the drivers to use. In Monza for example, Russell was required to stay in "turtle mode" while Antonelli got to go into "fly mode". Probably has to do with reliability, but it's obviously not the same power.
communication: Toto's slandering of Russell and glazing of Antonelli while openly courting Verstappen would naturally impact the driver's mentality, as well as the attitude of Toto's employees towards the drivers.
race team: while Mercedes is one big team, some departments are split in 2 with each side supporting only one car. Now, that's a large number of people, but it has been pointed out that one side won multiple championships with Hamilton, and the other one hasn't. Remember they switched the teams in 2016, curiously the only year Rosberg managed to beat Hamilton. Antonelli got Hamilton's team so that seems to be another advantage.
So when we conclude that 2 team mates don't have the same access to performance it doesn't just mean that there are physical differences in their cars.

How would that work?
The September deadline is in place mostly for reasons of logistics.
My understanding is that some of the freight is transported by ship. With the situation in Hormuz being what it is (and will be, until the orange clown is out of the picture), it doesn't seem possible.
If they could do Qatar, they'd also be able to do Abu Dhabi.
So like most, I expect Imola to be the official replacement for Abu Dhabi (similar to Bahrein-Malaysia), with Qatar simply being cancelled.
mxlila
I wish nobody cared but some do. And they have quite a negative impact on everyone.
Even in 2026 we get weird "news" due to those idiots making Hamilton's life difficult when he was younger.
mxlila
Pretty sure he does.
I honestly wouldn't notice if he didn't mention it, which is indeed how I wish everybody felt, but reality is that idiots exists and they make life harder for so many.
It had a significant impact on his life, so I think we should respect that he brings it up.

Having your passport stolen is annoying, but he still got a roof over his head and was able to recover his documents, right?
Having everything stolen from you means something very different to me.
His "this never happened to me in Argentina" claim is also... Well... Did he drive the type of car he had in Milan in Argentina? Did he leave it in a similar place, with his belongings inside?
I've lived in Latin America and coincidentally, studied car theft in Buenos Aires. No one there would ever leave their stuff in their car. And for middle and upper class people, cars are never left without security guards.
I've also lived in Milan and tbh never experienced any theft, not in my social circle either. But I don't have a fancy car, or Messi memorabilia.
Maybe he was even targeted because they knew of the Messi Mate? Who knows.
Anyway. Certainly an unpleasant experience for him, and something to talk about with the journalists.
mxlila
No.

Uhm it's very very cold in winter, the language is difficult to learn if you don't speak any other eastern European language, and people are not known to be particular welcoming to foreigners
mxlila
As long as the document is not expired, nor has been reported stolen, it's perfectly valid.
mxlila
Yet, anyone who adopts a 2nd nationality and doesn't inform the 1st country about it, will be technically and actually still be a citizen of the 1st country.
mxlila
Uhm, if you adopt a 2nd citizenship and your 1st country doesn't know, by all means you're still a citizen of the 1st country.
mxlila
State department of which country?
mxlila
Proving citizenship is simple if you got access to your documents.
Any government ID is only issued if you are a citizen. So for the first time (ie after birth or naturalization) you have to proof it. Afterwards, your ID and/or passport will prove citizenship.
It's a problem if documents get damage or lost, like many refuges experience.

No Piracetam has done anything for me.
Noopept makes me feel super sharp and fast thinking, but everything I do while on it is utter bs (as I notice afterwards). Probably good for corporate meetings, but bad for college where I tried it.
Sunlight exposure, movement, regular meal and sleep times, getting enough fiber, protein and rest all have a stronger impact than any "nootropic". They're just something to lean on when you're not able to live a healthy life, though they won't really help, as they don't provide any resources to the body to behave differently, they just steer it into a different direction.
They're crazy about his passport/birth certificate
