Sorry to be negative, but I have now been here for 1997, 2016, and 2024-- all of which were years where we "had a young team" and "had a good chance to win it all" -- any we didn't because we don't spend.

And somehow after 30+ years of fielding a team that seems to consistently be able to reach the playoffs and compete, we have regressed to having the lowest payroll in baseball on the hopes that a couple of dudes can burn their arms hard enough to get us to a point in August where we decide to make a couple of additions that can *maybe* push us into the middle-stages of the competition in October.

It's not enough, and it's so so so frustrating.
