Sorry, we don't have that in Canada
newbcoder
why not price the negative externality (carbon emissions) with a carbon tax and let the market adjust itself
newbcoder
have been waiting for this. it'll get added as a soft button if it takes off with a physical button. surprised samsung and lg don't have it since they've had multiple copy clipboard for ages
newbcoder
can you import folders or just individual watch faces at a time?

I normally let this go, but Samsung pay is way better than android pay. let that sink in. I can use it without having to switch os's. Google wallet? Not available in Canada. I've never seen someone complain about competition from another hardware OEM where the product is better than Google's. This really is /r/androidcirclejerk.

"Zenryhao 1 point 8 minutes ago No one in this thread understands that you aren't paying for the privilege of doing your own homework, you're paying for the service of a program which does all the grading, bookkeeping, etc. If that didn't exist, some real people would be getting paid to do all that. Paid by the university. Who uses tuition money to do so. Which comes from the students. The existence of that online program doesn't magically create a new source of cost, it just transfers it. This is basic economics here, not crazy space magic from the twilight zone. But hey, I don't want to interrupt the "college is ALREADY a scam har har" circlejerk, so don't mind me. Feel free to continue ignoring why things work the way they do in favor of whining about how it's all so utterly unfair. I'm sure that will help."
This isn't distinctly true. These online tools started as homework assistance as a response to an uncessary need. Many places still grade independently. This is effectively price gouging for a product that is artificially inelastic in terms of demand. Moreover, tas still get paid so now the cost burden does in fact go up for students.

icon pack?

there's no set timeline, but xposed usually gets compiled in 1-2 months after an official launch
newbcoder
well, cpu chipsets are tied down to motherboard sockets. so, they won't last over time. didn't know graphics could be portable as well - unless it's a dedicated one as well
newbcoder
equally important; root cloak xposed module works for some even though they're rooted
newbcoder
we need modular systems like project ara.. once it takes off for mobile phones it'll probably make it's way into laptops too
newbcoder
laptops aren't designed that way
newbcoder
that's the problem - you're reading headlines. elon said in an interview what the cost differential from the s to x would be. the model x was never inteded as a lower-cost, higher production model. that is what the model 3 is for, and needs the cost per kwh of battery to drop namely by virtue of the gigafactory.

& people wonder why I think Elon Musk is so awesome when there are CEOs who carry themselves like this

I'm trying to sympathize with the nexus crowd. Had a nexus 5 before a long list of samsung phones. Now on a note 4. Yes, the software slows down quite a bit. But, oob usb otg, best display, tablet like menus for email and text, awesome camera, and private modes have kept me a fan of samsung. I don't even root them because I change phones every year. It helps that there's a vibrant market for the resale of these phones making the cost of ownership low.
Nexus 6: outdated screen. Nexus 5: very slow radio antennas for web browsing and poor battery life.
As a user of waze and dash cam for my daily commute, I need quick charge. At home, at work, on the road - it's there. don't need battery swaps because of that plus case removal is a pain. Sd cards? Don't make me laugh. Samsung phones have been unexpectedly corrupting them since the s3. Will pick up a note 5 soon.
Gp editions are a waste of time and prohibitively expensive. Love samsung hardware and parts of their software that haven't yet been matched. Plus, I use my phone for work all the time so it essentially makes me money. The note series is a fantastic laptop replacement at home as well for content consumption. Kinda wanna try the ubuntu phones on the side though. Samsung still brings it to the table though. No one in the android game can touch their economies of scale. Would be nice to see a new player compete with the best hardware at an $800 price point.

I'm just in the wrong thread. I shouldn't have expected optimism in this one.

I didn't know suggestions on the forefront of innovation (independent workarounds; progress of technology on a user-end and open source scale) were bullshit. Step up and work for google, and implement these settings yourself if you want to see them from a mainstream brand. Or do you want everything handed to you, and complain when it's not how you would like? Being upset about the state of technology is not going to take this world anywhere. Innovation is. Currently, it manifests itself in the ways explained above when you talk about dpi settings.

welcome to android
newbcoder
just flash a paranoid rom then. or use an xposed module
newbcoder
use nova launcher to make icons smaller
I had a nexus 5 and hated it compared to any samsung device since the s3. Also own a note 5 now. Nexus 5 had terrible battery life, no oob usb otg, poor camera, and no multiwindow support. Things I couldn't really fix? Web browser was incredibly slow compared to my s5. Must have been the radios. Used the nexus 5 for 6 months before I sold it.
