Hi

njnoder

Hi there,

Can you reproduce this issue while you are on sh.reddit.com ?

njnoder

DM’d you for more information.

njnoder

Thanks — Which browser are you using where you can reproduce the heating? Which page are you on and do you see the over heating when you start or after a while?

njnoder

Thanks for letting us know.

njnoder

Can you reproduce this by hitting sh.reddit.com and opening the home feed instead of the community feed?

njnoder

Is this still happening for you ?

njnoder

Hi there,

We have been working on the CPU spike issue and have been able to fix several animation-related problems we found. As of this morning, we pushed a set of optimizations specifically for the comments page.

Let us know if you continue to see issues, and please keep the feedback coming. We appreciate it.

njnoder

Hi there,

You can access the dark mode option by tapping on the user icon on the top right. A switcher with dark mode will show up.

Thanks.

njnoder

Sorry to see you are having issues with this new rollout.

Are you on mobile or desktop ? Unfortunately this rollout doesn’t use the beta flag anymore to determine participation because we have been out of beta a while ago.

Could you send us a video of what you are experiencing?

njnoder

Hi there,

If you are using a mobile device, we use a loading bar at the top of the page which shows the loading progress. For desktop it’s easily visible but for mobile you might have to look at the top of the page.

Could you send us a video of your interaction so we can find a better solution if this still feels slow?

njnoder

Thanks for the feedback u/CrustyCatWhisperer. We have pushed some fixes to improve the performance on safari that should have dropped the cpu usage from 90 to 40. Could you confirm if Safari is working better for you?

Unfortunately, this rollout doesn’t take into account the beta flag. But let me see if we can do something about your url rewrite feedback.

njnoder

Could you take another look at this? We believe we have dropped the cpu usage down to 40 %

njnoder

Thanks a ton !

njnoder

Hi u/CrustyCatWhisperer,

We are aware of some performance concerns with Safari, and the team has been steadily pushing fixes to resolve this issue.

You mentioned that when you log into a different account, you still see the recent design, and it works. Could you tell us if you use the same browser and could you DM me your other alt user id with which you saw this work perfectly?

Thanks

njnoder

We are taking another pass at it and have pushed a few more fixes on this. We will let you all know once we are done with this.

njnoder

Hi u/willypie, thanks for the report.

Could you send us a video of what you are seeing? We will have someone in the team take a look.

njnoder

We pushed a fix for this today. Please let us know if the change helped.

njnoder

Can you send us more info as requested in the automod post ?

njnoder

We fixed this issue a few mins ago. Can you please confirm you can access again? Sorry for the inconvenience.

njnoder

Could you try updating to the latest version and see if this is still an issue?

njnoder

Could you add more information as suggested by the automod?

njnoder

Which version are you on and could you try after updating to the latest?
