You made me open the game 🤝

Every highschool welder thinks they're gonna go into underwater, I did too, no one does. Like other people have hinted it's really the commercial diving certification that's the hard thing to get. I'm 27 for context, I got into this trade because it's the only class I didn't skip in highschool, my parents tried a bit to get me to enroll in higher education but we all knew it would be a waste of money. I started on the factory floor the week highschool ended (just barely got through it), and I've been successful, but only because I've been hungry and make myself stand out. Basic math is a huge part of that, but more so is your overall work ethic, leadership qualities, and just personality. I was the foreman of a shop of 30 welders at 21, and there were 50 year olds under me who just never had the drive to better themselves. I've never seen more depressed people. I've gotten to travel and make incredible memories because of this trade since then, but there's two sides of the coin, and it's up to the individual which one they end up on.
"You can teach a monkey how to weld, but not how to be on time"

I have literally talked about how I enjoy ironworking because it lets me use my creative side 🤣

So like are we all just pretending Riders doesn't exist or....? They invited the devoted Steep players to beta test Rider's, I know the boarding is ass in it but it's what we got 🤷

nota90skid

Honestly man if you're just into the snow sports Steep is a better experience by a million percent. As a mountainbiker it pains me to say but Steep is just a better game, I still load either up just as often. If you're unfamiliar Rider's is the spiritual sequel to Steep.

My grandmother put a pack of pencils that said "whatever" in my stocking one year, never has a fun word died so quickly.

I can't believe no one has posted This yet! These guys are known for having huge testicles and there's an anime all about it

nota90skid

Is that the one where they have testicle based super powers?

nota90skid

Things I didn't think I'd learn today. I can't imagine what other tricks you must have

nota90skid

Well that was horrifying. There's 100 people active on there right now because of you.

nota90skid

Seriously how did it become common to label things No Fucking Good?? Various guys use this at my factory and I'm always having to explain it to new guys. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it, but I find it absurd

nota90skid

I just scrolled back up here to say that I found the r/WTF post this is probably xposted from. It's a high school graduation prank. I think they did pretty damn good all things considered

I used to bring my dog with me before she passed, I also let her just sleep underneath the hammock on a bed and she was happy, until the night of an unforcasted rainstorm, luckily she woke me up and we had a car to run to nearby that trip, but ever since that I started bringing a little tent for her, basically a kids toy tent that I would use a ground sheet and good rainfly with, she loved it! It took some convincing to get her in the first time but treats go a long way, it'd probably help to do a condensed crate training when you set up camp

I build a set of dirt jump trails in town! I'm always looking for people to share the place with and maybe convince to move some dirt :P I haven't been back there since the end of the season proper so you have to scroll down a bit but check out my Instagram @smalltownhooligan to see them. Let me know if you're interested in the map in, they're out behind the golf course in a place known locally as dragons drop. There's a few loops that would be perfect to build a more traditional mtb trail on if you have the interest

nota90skid

Did you read the instructions on the gojo? You have to use it before your hands are wet for it to work right, scrub real good with just the soap then add a little bit of water and keep scrubbing for a bit before washing off, dry your hands and go again if you need to

22(m) here, on my first day ever not smoking since around the same age, I needed to hear this, my girlfriend has lots of weed in the house but I can't fall into just having a toke, it won't just be one.

nota90skid

Thanks, I think I'm actually going to make it 24 hours without tonight, I wish I could say it feels great but I'm having a hard time celebrating it, my girlfriend is still smoking so I can't rub it in her face that I've made it. Not having that after work toke was a struggle. Oddly enough I think its going to lessen my work ethic a bit, weed has given me social anxiety (or made it worse) so I push myself everyday our of fear of letting "them" down. This has still been the case now that I run the place, the "them" just changed, but without weed I'm beginning to realize my best is all I can do. Thanks for the comment

nota90skid

Good on you man, feels good knowing I'm not alone, we got this

Edit: I feel you on the muscle aches, definitely related
