But in cases of elephants that have spent their whole lives around humans, their personalities and temperament can be gauged. Yes, a mouse could run across their path and set them off but elephants do show a huge level of empathy towards humans and have in fact, on record, saved humans in danger. One jumped in to a rushing river to save the human. He thought he was being attacked but it jumped in and pulled him out. An incredible video. So with all things known, there’s a low risk of anything going wrong. Still too high to justify but some people will take that as acceptable risk.
