You're allowed to not want to watch the show. But Idk why you both have a whole text exchange about trying to change each others minds.
You need to learn to set some boundaries. Just say "I'm not interested in the show, I'll cuddle with you when you're not watching it" and leave it at that. You don't need to explain why you don't like the show. It sets him up to want to explain why he does, and then you both overreact because you're taking each other's explanations as "justifications" for one way or another.
It does not matter why anyone likes or dislikes the show. What matters is the boundary you set. Enforce the "I won't cuddle with you while you're watching the show" and then if he keeps pushing it, then you've got a bigger problem than this.
Learn to communicate. Both are OR

we were calling out Mother Teresa before today though
she was a horrible person who believed pain and suffering was necessary to become closer to God
the conditions in her "home for the dying" were absolutely abysmal because she thought people on hospice care didn't need things like hygienic practices, painkillers, or any kind of comforts to ease their suffering, but yet when SHE was in hospice care, she wanted all the luxuries Western medicine could provide.
Oh and she had some very questionable financials

You don't have to justify your moods. You're allowed to be in whatever mood you're in. All moods are acceptable. Sometimes it's helpful to acknowlege certain *behaviors* when its out of the ordinary because it's related to your mood like, "Hey, sorry I'm being so snippy, I'm in a bad mood today, but I'm trying to get over it. Thanks for putting up with it and being patient with me today, I really appreciate it."
That's a lot different than explaining why you're in a bad mood as if you're not allowed to be in a bad mood and can only be acceptable if you explain it.
All moods and emotions are valid. You need to figure out how to process them that doesn't involve dumping it on your partner, who may take it the wrong way and feel as if you're attacking them and they have to respond defensively or some other equal and opposite way to keep the scales balanced.
If you just want to vent about something, tell them you're just venting instead of presenting it in a way that needs them to solve it. If you don't want to cuddle because they're watching the show, say "I'll cuddle when you're done watching the show" so they don't feel like they aren't allowed to watch the show because you don't want to and making them feel like it's a choice between you OR the show instead of "watch the show first, then cuddle later"
It requires some self assurance and self confidence that neither of you are doing anything wrong, you're allowed to have different opinions, and no amount of discussion or back and forth is going to change your minds on those opinions, and frankly, no one has to change their mind about it. There's no drama or strife or anything about "let's cuddle when you're done with that show"
