If your doc will work with you, talk to them, nut find a doc that will help you, because fasting while on those meds can cause hypoglycemia (LOW blood sugar), which can hurt you as much as high. If you do it right, your doc can back the meds off as your blood sugar normalizes (which it will unless you use your feeding window as a carb fest). If you keep taking the meds at full dosage, and cut way back on carbs, it will crash your blood sugar (mucho no bueno). Fasting can reverse type 2 diabetes, if you do it right. Look for Dr. Jason Fung on youtube - he can explain it better than I, but the important thing is that whoever is prescribing your meds HAS to be involved.

The "how much better you feel" part is the most important thing anyway. Congrats.

Good luck with that.

It burns glycogen stores until it depletes those (~12 hours) then it starts burning body fat.

If you feel well and the numbers that matter are good, start working on muscle and don't worry about what they say.

If you keep up the IF, it will go away. Your body recycles your whole skin about every 40 days, if you get adequate time where you are not actively eating. Think of your fasting time as sleeping while awake.

Carbohydrates (also called saccharides) are molecular compounds made from just three elements: carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Monosaccharides (e.g. glucose) and disaccharides (e.g. sucrose) are relatively small molecules. They are often called sugars.
"Complex" carbohydrates are just COMBINATIONS of different types of simple sugars. Metabolism-wise, they ALL end up as glucose, which is what counts nutritionally.

Carbohydrates ARE sugar...

The issue is the disconnect between food animals and most people. Most people's ONLY contact with animals is through pets... to raise or hunt your food brings appreciation of its source.

General rule... most people who work in a hospital (or other "health care" organization) are so swarmed over with disinformation, misinformation and stress of trying to make the impossible happen (i.e. make people well by masking their symptoms -AKA modern medicine) that they can't imagine that the truth is so simple. The body is NATURALLY healthy... we screw it up by feeding it crap (and way to much of it) and then try to offset the inevitable backlash with drugs and violence (surgery/chemo/radiation, etc).
