As far as hitting a brick wall, look at videos that /u/dieyen has posted here or check out @BP.Olivia on Instagram. You have to learn to move and control the pen like that at those speeds to get better results. You can’t keep playing it safe.

And then there is studying the letterforms. You really have to get into the details of whatever you are studying and look at the differences between what you’re doing and the exemplar. Idk why, but the arm produces better results when you have high-resolution clarity on the letterforms. I can’t tell you how many times I had an inaccurate mental conception of a letterform and the form I had in my mind was actually more difficult to execute than the exemplar. That’s not the only benefit of studying the forms, it’s just one I can explain.

Outstanding stuff!

Putting in the work and getting results.

pbiscuits

Interesting. You working on it?

pbiscuits

Ya I always say whatever works.

I’d check the slant on the downstroke of that A. Needs more slant, or if you want to write a vertical hand the body of the A needs to be more upright.

Also you need more speed when you’re retracing these letters. I mean it’s helpful to experiment at a slower speed, but you can’t execute them properly at that speed.

Thanks. It looks super practical. I like how it mixes elements of traditional cursive and italic.

pbiscuits

Never heard of that, I’ll have to check it out.

pbiscuits

I think most people can, they just read it very slow and probably give up before really trying.

pbiscuits

Never would have thought D’Nealian was used outside of America.

pbiscuits

Did you ever get a handle on your cursive? How’s your writing today?

pbiscuits

That’s awesome. Ya some of these scripts we are taught are just not practical for real world usage. Italic is a great option.

pbiscuits

What time period, roughly?

pbiscuits

What did they teach you in primary school? Did it not suit your needs or did you forget it by the time you go to university?

pbiscuits

No, I’m not exactly sure sure what
Foolscap paper is.

pbiscuits

Really nice!

And yes, posture is difficult. Tension creeps in so easily.

pbiscuits

Idk, forgot all about Y somehow.

pbiscuits

Thank you for sharing!

pbiscuits

Looks great, very well done.

No need to redact where you got the paper, I'm sure some people would like to know.

pbiscuits

Best time to write!

Nice work. Never been sure how to make that dot on the c, will have to try it like that.
