Galerina marginata is much closer to P. cyanescence than these and will kill you. Wavy caps are not a beginner friendly mushroom to forage for, because they have a deadly lookalike. You need a lot more research before you can safely forage for wavy caps.

It's not queer, but Generation X by Douglas Copeland definitely has some of the the young, nihilistic 90s vibes you're looking for.

They look very different, and even if somehow one or two got in and got consumed, nothing would happen because that's not nearly enough psilocybin to feel the effects. Panaeolus cintulus are quite weak, you'd need to eat a lot of them to feel anything.

P. semilanceata don't look anything like this, they don't grow in your region, they don't grow in forests, and they don't really bruise blue. So, if anything, the colour of the stipes here points away from P. semilanceata.
Cubes don't look anything like this either, and you won't find them in a pine forest.
peach1313
You're very unlikely to find wavy caps in the UK in a forest, because they're not native to here. They'll be growing in disturbed areas, usually on wood chip / mulch.
peach1313
That's 100% not Psilocybe cubensis. It's a classic example of a blewit.

r/AmanitaMuscaria has the information. You don't want to make a decision on wether to consume these without a solid positive ID and proper research and understanding of what you're actually planning to consume. They're nothing like psilocybin containing mushrooms.

Yes, it's really strange, because normally they're rare, but these all have classic lib morphology, which the lookalikes don't usually have. Eg. some Mycena species come in this colour, but not this shape. Definitely odd. Hopefully someone will shed some light on this mystery.
peach1313
No libs here, sorry. Watch some ID videos to refresh your memory, it'll really help.
peach1313
In addition to this, the small one on the left isn't a lib either.
peach1313
The left 3 are libs, see this morphology on slide 6 here:

Liberty caps. They can look like that sometimes. There's ones like these towards the end of this collection of atypical libs:
peach1313
Libs don't grow in forests, only grassland.

I do dehydrator at low heat (35C), airtight container, food grade silica packs, store in a cool dry place.
Thing is, if he's only ever used one drying and storing method, he doesn't know if there's potency loss, because he has nothing to compare it to.
peach1313
These are definitely not liberty caps.
peach1313
Not libs
Not liberty caps, if that's what you're looking for.
