I think Geocrab must be my favourite, followed shortly by Bonar Bridge

My old 2006 Clio had a similar issue, although they'd mostly stop working in the dry, thankfully when it was actually raining they tended to work! And sometimes they wouldn't turn off either no matter which position the stalk was in. Turns out the drain was completely blocked and the wiper motors were permanently underwater. Good to see the design didn't change

I had one almost exactly the same as that (full circle cracked though), definitely not repairable. 100% recommend having the cover on your insurance in future

I'd suggest a Suzuki swift sport, you might be able to get a 33s model at the upper end of your budget and Suzuki have a 10 year warranty when serviced at Suzuki. Significantly less powerful though 😅 but still a very fun drive in my opinion!

Good choice, and I think the yellow definitely suits it! Be prepared for the summer when insects land on it thinking it's a big flower 😂 I have a 20 plate hybrid in red now, having had a non hybrid yellow one that was written off on the M1 :(

On balance I probably prefer the hybrid, the extra torque low down is nice for accelerating away from roundabouts and junctions etc and I can't really feel the extra weight compared to the non hybrid. But the non hybrid was better when you revved it more, so it may come down to how you prefer to drive. I also don't believe that the hybrid only has 129 hp (compared to the non hybrid officially having 140 hp), that figure must be without counting the electric motor. Overall I liked both and wouldn't have changed my non hybrid if it wasn't written off (quite good in a crash as it turns out!). And having the digital speed display in the newer models is nice, I could never work out why they didn't have it in the older non hybrid models 😅

I've had 2 swift sports - an 18 plate in bright yellow (which I think really suits it but isn't for everyone! People would definitely look as you went past) and now have a hybrid 20 plate in red. I really love them, I find the sport seats comfortable and there's a surprising amount of space in the back seats. And you get a 10 year warranty when serviced by Suzuki which is good for peace of mind. FWIW the only reason I don't have the yellow one anymore is because it was written off in a crash on the M1 😪
I've never driven a mini but I know people who have them and they also seem to really like them, so I think it's probably best to test drive both as you plan to and see which one you prefer!

If the adalimumab helped, is it worth asking for another biologic medication? I'm currently on adalimumab, however before I was on etanercept which like you worked well until I developed bad itchiness and it stopped working. I hope you find some answers soon!
plant_king
I think it highly depends on the trust, I went from one who basically didn't treat me at all and changed to a different trust/doctor and was basically immediately put on biologics. But I'm lucky to be in a city with 2 NHS trusts

This comment made me Google my old car and I found it's currently for sale on gumtree! A bit worse for wear than when I sold it but still running which is quite nice to know
plant_king
My first biologic was benepali (etanercept), when that stopped working I was prescribed imraldi, then hyrimoz, now I'm on yuflyma (all adalimumab). These have all been effective and no side effects to speak of. Imraldi was quite painful to inject but the yuflyma has a different formulation which doesn't hurt

I've had no issues with Hastings, when I had an accident which wrote my car off they were very helpful, I even got paid out more than I bought the car for (after some negotiation!). Similarly easy to claim for a new windscreen after a stone cracked it
plant_king
That is true, I think if it weren't for the shipping/duty/other costs associated with importing a car there is a good chance I would've done it, as it stands though it just made way more financial sense to get a car already sold here. At least a swift sport is still a fun, small, fairly uncommon car!

I really like the idea of a kei car, especially the sporty ones!

Yeah I don't really know why it's like that to be honest, I also have family history of AS (my mum and my great aunt) however my mum is HLA b27 +ve and also generally has high CRP. I don't believe I've had any other gene markers checked, imaging and symptoms were enough for diagnosis and the NHS (I'm in the UK) are unlikely to run any tests deemed unnecessary!
plant_king
I'm HLAb27 negative and also always have a low CRP, I was diagnosed through MRI scan showing inflammation and oedema in the sacroiliac joints. Prior to that I already had a diagnosis of juvenile idiopathic arthritis in my hips and knees
plant_king
Excellent choice if I do say so myself! I'm about to have a similar commute and I see no issues, good fun and does have enough power to overtake when needed. Quite capable on longer trips as well relative to the fact it's just over 1000 kg and a small car, I drove down to Bordeaux and back (almost 2000 miles with all the stops and looking around) in a week and found it comfortable. And the 10 year warranty when you service it is quite reassuring as well

While probably not at the top of their minds right now having survived such a massive crash, I hope they both have good insurance. Normal car insurance policies often explicitly say they will not cover driving on the nurburgring
plant_king
I've seen a few swift sports around as learner cars (not as many as the traditional choices of course). Fwiw I find the seats quite comfortable, I'm not in the car all day of course and they do hug you quite tight but I like that

I'm surprised our 12 went to Israel, wonder why?

Estonia were robbed!
plant_king
I really expected Malta to get so many more points than that
plant_king
To add to everybody else - yes definitely get the MRI! My X-ray showed nothing of note, and they actually only scanned my lower back because they had a bit of spare time (my hips and knees were being scanned - I already had a diagnosis of juvenile idiopathic arthritis at the time) and that is how I was diagnosed. My bloods have always been unremarkable as well, my inflammatory markers are always low no matter what. I'm on biologics now and it has completely revolutionised my life - I was struggling with the pain and fatigue before, and now I'm doing a PhD!

My mum had an ex-rental Kia picanto in the past which had no problems at all. Worth keeping in mind as well Suzuki do a service activated warranty (like Toyota) so every year it's serviced at Suzuki it gets a year of warranty up to 7 years. I don't think it would put me off but if there was another for the same price that isn't ex-rental I might go for that instead
There is now the (recently rebranded) London Cranfield airport which is in Bedfordshire!
