Much higher quality image: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/9/90/20120226193515%21Colour_avrocar_59.jpg
This is from the wikipedia history, the current photo on wikipedia is edited and loses much detail.

Nice, found a slightly crisper version here: https://www.historycolorado.org/sites/default/files/media/images/2020/Creede_Colorado_circa_1890s_HC_20101564.png

I quit near the end of book 2, as you say, it just didn't have much substance. And the writing/prose is rough.
If you want something similar but with better characters, world building, narrative, etc, then I recommend Worth the Candle by Alexander Wales. It is quite meta, a story about stories. It deals a lot with grief/loss and can be quite heavy at times. You should know if it's for you within a couple chapters. Dungeons and dragons is a key part, so if you're familiar that helps.

Yea, we don't know what makes a mind. Our consciousness comes from electro-chemical signals in a lump of meat. Nothing says something similar can't come from some other complicated arrangement of signals. I'm not saying we are there yet, but people will keep dismissing the possibility even when we have truly created something like an alien consciousness.

Thanks for the find! Looks like 1949-1950, tons more here:

This photo is actually from Budapest during the Hungarian Revolution in late October/early November 1956, not the 1968 Prague Spring. It was taken by Danish photojournalist Vagn Hansen and shows 15-year-old Erika Szeles holding a PPSh-41. Tragic context: she primarily served as a volunteer medic and was killed in action helping a wounded fighter just days later, around November 7, 1956

What type of file? 10-20:1 could be normal for text. You must have some strange file filled with 0s or something. No entropy, just repeating patterns?
Or you've offloaded information into the decompressor program - does it work with any other files? Probably it will only work on this one file.

Save everything you might ever want. Method depends on the source... copy and paste to a text file, mirror wholes sites with wget, write custom scripts, etc.
Claude/Gemini/etc are very good at scripts for saving things.
I recently was struggling with a python script to download an open directory, kept getting blocked by CloudFlare even with proper cookies, request headers, etc. So I whipped up a quick browser add-on that made quick work of it :)
I also recently built a dezoomer for NYT timesmachine if anyone wants it: https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/s/0T6bpNAyE3

Finally got around to looking at this link - fantastic, thanks!
To defeat the paywall, I just do FILE > SAVE PAGE AS from browser. Then open the HTML in the browser and you are good to go.
Then you can take the image links and retrieve full resolution like this (just chop off the parameters after the JPG extension):

Hmm, I'm not 100% sure, do some more research, but I wouldn't torrent without VPN in the US. It's not like Germany where you are guaranteed a massive fine, but you could still have your Internet disconnected for repeated infringement, and fines could be possible too. Most likely you just get some DMCA letters from your ISP which you can ignore though.
If you want to risk it, yes, you just configure port forwarding in the router and then configure that same port in qbittorrent. Good luck!
