I don't see much of a difference. Most of my game ideas are like "Take existing idea, add some unique twist, improve some things I don't like about the original, replace all the characetrs with my own". Not completely sure which of these this is.

I don't want to restrict myself to 8 bit at least.

But that's all retro stuff most people wouldn't pay for anyway.

I AM a passionate game dev. I want the times of flash back, where every game was free, and most of them were experimental, but that these games are now better than most corporate games.

Also I don't see an issue with ripping off games. If you copy an idea, and add your own unique twist or make it better in some ways, you've earned it. If the original developer already has some reputation, people will stay with the original one anyway, despite the ripoff being better.

I can't use singal anyway. It requires a smartphone and I have to register using my phone number. How is that safe? Or did this change since I checked a few years ago?

Gamedev is dead. We'll have to deal with it. As long as constant law effort is required to prevent something, it's not a good law. Nobody will be able to earn money from just making games anymore. That's a good thing. I've been a gamedev, I'll only use AI to create more games. Hopefully some of them will become better than paid games so people will just play my free games instead, and if enough people do this, digital ownership is dead. Fuck digital ownership, it's fake anyway. Always has been.

You just need to have better or more ideas. Then you might have an advantage.

Yeah, Chromium and Blender for example are so difficult to install. I always gave up. It's probably not what you're talking about, they are rather harmless in comparison. But still annoying.

And yes, now I view it as shady when somebody doesn't open source their product. It has been a little shady before. Just make the source public from the beginning, else I'll just vibe code my own. I'll vibe code my own version anyway in many cases, even if it's open source. But if it's open source, I can ask my AI to make it similar.

And I don't want people to make a living from selling software anymore. I hope the whole business strategy dies 😈

Yeah, sometimes happens. If I let AI do too much, I sometimes feel like I don't understand what's happening anymore. So then I sometimes ask AI to explain me the architecture, so I can say "This doesn't sound good. Why not put all of these related files into a common submodule", and then I feel like I understand enough of the program again, and it's clean now.

I'll only speak for myself. For me it already is extremely useful. I can create things thatwould have required me weeks or months in hours or days. Many things that are valuable to me, that I wouldn't have been able to create at all.
