She killed her abusive mother who had munchausen by proxy and was pretending Gypsy Rose was mentally and physically disabled as well as much younger for most of her life. She's just been released from prison.

That's one thing I genuinely admire about her.
But everytime I try and actually read instapoetry, in the hope of supporting a casual egalitarian grassroots artistic community, it just reminds me of a time when everyone made their away messages emo song lyrics and I can't.

A low fantasy unsexy romance and intrigue novel with themes of temptation and salvation. The main characters will be a monk and a young mother married to the local count. I want it to have a mediaeval feel instead of an 80s high fantasy sword and sorcery feel. A big part of it will be the young mother as a fugitive with her son going through a series of picaresque supernatural encounters while remembering through flashbacks her friendship with the monk who helped her escape. The third main character will be a young woman who befriends a magical talking crow and ends up traveling with the young mother.
I'm aiming for 50000 words.
If you're open to settings way outside of regency (in both time and place) and willing to consider other mediums, then you might like The Apothecary Diaries. It's a series of light novels but there's also a manga and an anime. Romance isn't its main genre (it's court drama detective fiction) and it's very slow burn, but the dynamic is really similar to what you're looking for.
