You may still be able to get Jaheira if she's not dead yet? And in Act III that'd unlock another companion.

Otherwise, well... it's technically possible to solo Ketheric... but I'd consider it a lesson in how the dark urge works

The V3 sats are a lot bigger and heavier, from what I've seen Starship will carry at most 60 sats per flight.

rebootyourbrainstem

It will NOT have fewer satellites. A lot of V3 is about using more spectrum. That allows more subscribers in the suburban zones that are currently sold out everywhere. Doing fewer satellites would negate that, and also risks backsliding on things like latency.

Regardless you're coming at this backwards. Starlink is designed to be a good anchor customer for Falcon 9, and the new version is designed to be the perfect anchor customer for Starship.

They want higher flight rates because it makes their Starship operations more efficient, and Starlink can absolutely absorb those launches profitably.

The end goal is to use this high flight rate to optimize Starship to make it absolutely unbeatable in terms of cost per kg. Starship isn't big to serve big payloads, it's big to enable full reuse (which allows unbeatable cost / kg eventually) and it's big to enable moon and mars missions (though it is far from optimized for those, but if they make refueling flights cheap enough it can still be better than anything else).

Starship is designed to be better for Starlink than Falcon 9 is.

One of the reasons Ukraine is so insistent is that some of these patriot missiles are not coming from US stockpiles, they are coming from European countries.

But the US still has to sign off on the transfer. But they just... don't.

All the radiating orb gear is great for pinning shadows

rebootyourbrainstem

I kinda wish they put a second Death Shepard in the illithid colony as well on Honor mode, would be a nice callback.

rebootyourbrainstem

I love them but like the smokepowder arrows they can get expensive if you use them a lot

rebootyourbrainstem

They're fun with a throwzerker though. Throw the one next to you at the others.

rebootyourbrainstem

Well they didn't say it could do it reliably... /s /s /s

rebootyourbrainstem

*ascent

rebootyourbrainstem

Okay that's weird but actually I'm going to have to blame the game for giving you any money at all for corpses

rebootyourbrainstem

Yeah that one is a trap. I think it's the one nearest the entrance, on the ground floor. Makes sense that the first / easiest one to find is the bad one imo.

rebootyourbrainstem

Massive unmaintainable bug-ridden inefficient proprietary blob that everybody was forced to add into their web browser.

It died because they gave up on maintaining it when they realized they were never going to be able to make it secure and that having to support new platforms like ARM would make their maintenance nightmare even more impossible.

rebootyourbrainstem

Tbh I love material that is VERY clear about its purpose and point of view up front

rebootyourbrainstem

You don't think reliability will end up playing a starring role? I wish I shared your optimism. But launch rate vs launch capacity is not the only trade off, and a single bungled refueling flight can cause a whole lot of schedule chaos depending on the nature of the failure.

rebootyourbrainstem

It's a much less ambitious system and "partially" is doing a lot of work there.

Depending on what counts, we can count OneWeb, which is owned by Eutelsat now and whose satellites were made by Airbus in France, though the company was originally American before its restructuring.

rebootyourbrainstem

The real question is how many more test launches will it take before they have a rocket capable of doing it in 6-8 launches with good reliability.

I'm sure they can get there eventually but they're kinda running out of time to do the "juice performance, fix reduced reliability, repeat" dance.

It's a third party article about the educated guess by the other third party

rebootyourbrainstem

Not much apparently, since he doesn’t have the “tadpole did it” excuse for being so low level

Also him not seeing Jaheira during the original battle against Ketheric because he was on the other side of the battlefield may or may not be code for “I overslept and missed it”

Who the hell is Steve Jobs

rebootyourbrainstem

You also really don't want to skip the boots that prevent getting knocked down while concentrating

rebootyourbrainstem

I mean, she does potentially get a textbook happy ending

SpaceX and Tesla already share a materials science department focused on metals and glass (same people, same roles, at two companies at the same time, on paper) for a long time.

SpaceX buys battery packs and motors from Tesla for Starship, seats for Dragon, probably a lot more expertise they could share.

But most importantly, both are heavily invested in AI. I know a lot of people don't like this but in terms of money spent it's a very large part of both.

(like treating mental illnesses that make end of life so much more difficult and debilitating, like the article is talking about)

I'm both disturbed and confused by your worldview, but this at least gives me some hope there is a common ground.
