Does no one else think it was just Drakuk pretending to be friend against fo, but specifically got to see ALL of the castle defenses available in the moment... and Dresden allies for defense? That was in my mind just a kick-the-tires scenario. Dresden survives a half ass attack, but now Drakul, and whoever else, sees what Dresden can muster (with notice) to protect his house.
