👁️ Surveillance State: I voted Yes.

My god, a phenomenal job. Massive respect for this undertaking.

Okay so I’m not gonna comment in the massive thread of comments talking about YES YOU GET YOUR DUES BACK WTF WE DONT - your branch bylaws dictates if stewards get paid. In some branches, you get reimbursed after attending meetings, in some branches you automatically get reimbursed by taking the position, and in some branches you don’t get anything at all and you do it for the love of the game.
None of these are inherently right or wrong options, it all depends on the finances of the branch, the size of the branch, and the individuals that are a part of the branch. Every situation is different. You’re not gonna hold a branch of 50 members to the same financial standard as a branch with 5,000 members.
You can request your bylaws from your branch president. If they won’t give them to you, contact your NBA.

Does the NPMHU have anything in their contract about past practice? For example, that would be an Article 5 grievance for NALC.

rhyth

I mean, you could argue article 5 past practice if you’ve had them for a long time, but the postal service has policies about recording on postal property.
I’d honestly call or email your NBA’s office for guidance on that one. It would be a tough grievance to win, in my opinion.

rhyth

But if the local negotiated that regulars could do hold downs in the 80s, and it’s a long standing past practice, they could.
My husbands office has it in their LMOU that T6s can hold down routes. It’s not impossible, just highly unlikely.

rhyth

The only way that would be kosher is if it’s something that’s been in your LMOU for literally decades

rhyth

The clerks at my office would save them, scratch out the addresses, and put them in a drawer. When elementary schools came to visit they’d hand them out.

Probably against the rules somewhere, but my office was very lax about a lot of things.

rhyth

I had one after I had shoulder surgery. They're excellent. Management can just order you one. File a grievance.

rhyth

I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been in chat and he just goes “someone else told me to kms”

rhyth

He says, as a mod of r/USPS

rhyth

He's one of my best friends in the whole world, a kind person, and a city letter carrier just like the rest of us. Your opinion of one individual is perhaps being blinded by an entire team of moderators that does not represent him as a person.

Correct. They do take strike conversation seriously, because they're the public facing image on Reddit of the entirety of the postal service. Much as FATA takes strike talk seriously, because anything in Corey's namesake could be perceived as permissive and sympathetic.

rhyth

What app is that?

rhyth

I used to be Chris and Brittany’s mail carrier. I’m not gonna dox the city they live in, but they do not live in Waverly.

rhyth

Please let us know if there's anything we can do for this branch's members at this time. I'm so sorry for your loss.

rhyth

He’s not - his physician advised him not to get the COVID vaccine because of his heart. Now people are running with that saying he’s anti-vax.

rhyth

LMAO did you really make a reddit account with my first and last name and birth year to try to impersonate me. That’s pathetic 😂 do something productive instead of trying to create a false narrative in my name. Go read a book.

Without proof, accusing Caref of using union funds to host his roast is conjecture and heresay at best. If you’re concerned about the funds used for the event, you can always email him and ask.

rhyth

Sir this is a Wendy’s

Jk love you guys, you know I support yalls decision & you’ll receive no hate from me
