Magnatiles are the best. My parents gave my kid a set with race track prints on one side recently and he is OBSESSED.

I was told by my OB that if you want 3 or more children a VBAC is absolutely worth trying for, precisely because, as you say, that many C sections is a LOT for one body.

Baby Love by Joyce Maynard?

If I didn't have a dog who already eats used tissues like they're going to be discontinued, I'd keep cotton rounds and my bottle on the bedside and throw them in a bedside garbage (which, side note, is another wonderful thing for adhd - I keep considering getting one of those car size ones due to aforementioned dog).

Way to go!

It's called auditory processing disorder and I have it SO bad. I told my kid the other day that I hear him better if he looks at me when he talks to me, which is something my GRANDPA used to say to me! Very normal. Very adhd.

My best advice with loved ones is to only say, "What?" or "Say that again" AFTER you get into a position to actually hear. I do this with my husband instead of knee jerk saying it twenty times.

What an inspiring and great story!! So glad it went well for you. Did you do anything to induce the opening up you were experiencing at 36-37 wks, or was it just toddler chasing haha

riordan2013

This was going to be my suggestion.

Much like yours. I felt like I was throwing all of my resources (physical, mental and emotional) down a bottomless hole for at least six weeks. Once there was a smile, it felt a bit better.

You're right, that's what I was thinking of. Sam really said f you bookmaking nerds!

riordan2013

Good point, especially since that has a botanical/culinary meaning as well.

riordan2013

Doesn't this usually get denied?? Argh!

riordan2013

well for the shower, have you tried one of those sprays you do immediately after the shower?

I used to live near a medical practice that advertised the services of one Dr. Assadour Assadourian.

(My aunt calls these people Boober Boobersons.)

I'm an accountant and I've been one in many different companies and contexts. At the moment I am REALLY struggling with billable and productivity rates in my public accounting job. I am looking for a job where I can work independently without anyone "looking too close," as I say to my therapist over amd over. Having my time and productivity measured so carefully is really exposing the fact that I sit and piddle around a lot while thinking over things, and then whip through my tasks after that processing time.

I have a very understanding manager and many tools at my disposal (time tracker spreadsheet from a colleague better suited to my style than the tools native to the time keeping software, that kind of thing) and still ended up on a Performance Improvement Plan a couple weeks ago. It's tough.

genuinely there are twins named Donald and Ronald in my family tree too!

riordan2013

I was going to say this! Lol

riordan2013

WOW!!!! Way to go!!!!

riordan2013

Because you can pooh-pooh something, ie dismiss it readily without thought. I'm pretty sure that usage predates the bear.

riordan2013

Ooh yes.
