Think they definitely have, Jojo especially is starting to actually have fun with it.
Still don't get the having two downstairs idea, especially when they both try to contribute with questions or comments, interrupts the flow and makes things longer. Like getting their reaction to the judges comments when the whole point of the Clauditorium is to get their reaction to the comments, just usher them up ASAP!

think some of the critiques sound worse written down (not criticising the original poster at all, it's a great summary), I listened to the pod and thought nothing sounded too mean, you could understand where Oti was coming from
rollingthunderpunch
found todays dance a real disappointment
really felt Nancy was trying to sell it, but thought Bethany seemed uncomfortable
rollingthunderpunch
think the biggest improvement for the show is to sit all the judges down and tell them to stop being so weird sometimes with their comments.
sometimes it gets uncomfortable and it makes the vibes of the show really weird!
actually hope Josh feels comfortable in his role soon enough so he can give it back to the judges

so many first timers, thought Robert Irwin was charming.
very funny how jazzed Graham was to finally get a royal on. whenever Graham gets interviewed one of the questions he always gets is who would he want on that has never been on. for ages it was Julia Roberts, then she's been on. he's always mentioned any of the royals, but don't think he ever thought it'd really happen. know his current stock answer is Brad Pitt cos he's the only big star of that generation that hasn't been on the sofa.

for some reason I thought the person was politically linked, cos they brought it up after talking about manifesting AOC on the pod in 2027
Kamala? can't remember if they were big backers
actually, wait, Malala? didn't she go see Oh Mary recently?
also think Cher is gonna be doing a promo tour for the second half of her autobiography, that'd be big

Julie will have zero name recognition, but if you tested Hayley Cropper, she'd be top 5 most famous in the UK

probably shouldn't have promised to give your profits to an organized group that was attacking secure facilities and when confronted by police officers attacked them with sledgehammers to the point they broke a policewomans spine.
the UK is supposed to roll over and allow a few Sally Rooney funded spine smashings? or Sally Rooney funded attacks on military infrastructure?! get outta here!

know they did a few jokes about Polanski in update, but feel like they don't wanna joke about the Greens cos most supporters are the young hip demo the show is going for.
why they don't do Reform either is mindboggling to me
also the biggest story in the country in the last two weeks was City getting found guilty, could they not do that cos Sky owns the Premier League?

have never ever watched the show for the PRESENTERS, so it's crazy to me that it's been blown up into such a big deal. their job is to keep the show rolling along and keep it on time and yeah it was rocky to start with but they are doing fine.
and people look back with rose tinted glasses, for nearly a decade I'd be complaining about how awkward and unfunny poor Tess and her gags were.
actually the one thing that still annoys me was them increasing the amount of presenters for clearly no reason. also Johannes constant use of "Joshie" and "darling", but that was at a minimum tonight. those filler words can get ironed out quickly, anyone remember the crap Darcey Bussell got for her constantly ending sentences with YAH? during her first episode.

know it's down to a matter of budget and the average person not knowing that many musicals, but would love them to go outside the tried and tested of Les Mis, Oliver, Phantom, Chicago, Grease, etc.
bit crazy that we never really get Sondheim (apart from West Side Story).
and it's not even like you have to go super modern, there are so many musicals that have been running for like 20 years that haven't been touched by Strictly: Billy Elliott, Blood Brothers, Spamalot, Spring Awakening, Sunset Boulevard, Come From Away, Fun Home.
also some older musicals that unless they randomly go viral on Tiktok probably won't get featured: The Pajama Game, Gypsy, The Wiz, A Chorus Line.
know it's a family show but Little Shop Of Horrors and The Rocky Horror Picture Show aren't that risque. surely they can get a song out of Book Of Mormon too?
also have seen way too many figure skating routines to Umbrellas of Cherbourg, would be shooketh if Strictly ever went multi-lingual for musicals week and did some Jacques Demy!
rollingthunderpunch
was always pro the idea of this sort of show, they did it for a year or two on the red button after the final with Zoe Ball when you really want an aftershow to decompress and get everyones reactions
but didn't really think it through that during the regular series the vibes would understandably be bad immediately after someone getting eliminated. especially the opening of this where poor Tyler West had to go and interrupt the group hug to get Chris. also the interview with the judges where they were all fuming at having to do extra work
rollingthunderpunch
don't know how you can look back at that semi-final appearance and think there's any PLAN whatsoever
rollingthunderpunch
also every year there have been rumours of Alex from S3 or Stephen from S4 being the first Traitors person to do Strictly.. and it's just such a no brainer, especially when we are casting people from other talent shows that are barely being watched nowadays!
rollingthunderpunch
it was shocking how bad the Claudia Winkelman Show was recently, because you thought she'd take to it like a duck to water!
rollingthunderpunch
all I know about Graeme from reading Strictly social media is he has prior experience and he apparently nicks ways to train dogs from other trainers
rollingthunderpunch
In all the debate about presenters and the new way of pairing.. I was just really disappointed by the lack of a chaotic group dance at the end of the episode! we are losing traditions!

series 1-11: n/a. think I did watch cos it was always on in the family home but wasn't emotionally invested, would root for the John Sargeants and Anne Widdecombes
series 12: caroline flack
series 13: jay mcguinness, my all time fave!
series 14: ed balls
series 15: remember rooting for Mollie King because she was trying her darnedest and it never clicked.
series 16/17: no one jumps out to me
series 18: bill bailey all the way!
series 19: actually was set up for the perfect final where it was my three favourite couples and any of Rose, AJ or John winning would've been fine. still upset at AJs injury making her miss it, we deserved a showdance!
series 20: think I was rooting for Helen Skelton
series 21: found Annabel & Johannes partnership really touching
series 22: Chris!
series 23: Karen since Week 1!
rollingthunderpunch
still haven't seen any real explanation for why they've increased the amount of presenters
rollingthunderpunch
sorry but United are such pussies about this, come down on them and 'Pro Ref' like a house of bricks
have Carrick come out in his press conference and NAME THEM so they can never referee us again. set the agenda!
they are going to get away with just taking them out the firing line until after the international break and nothing will change
rollingthunderpunch
who cares what that sad sack Geordie cunt thinks?!
rollingthunderpunch
Maguire wasn't wrong, just early!
rollingthunderpunch
Sack 'em
terrible and feels mean spirited
BBC producers have had a mare with all the unnecessary tinkering they've been doing this season: 3 hosts instead of 2, this weirdly mean vote, ALL couples not being interviewed together on ITT, fourway split to find out the danceoff and the two pairs who are safe not being interviewed?!
