Opening SSH to both my devices and typing php -v returns PHP 8.1.32 (cli) (built: Jun 20 2025 08:09:01) (NTS)
I don't even have the 8.2 or 8.4 packages installed.

What, no AI pictures of what it could look like? /s

Interesting. Looks good.
May need a few more options for font size and/or colour

You can schedule Watchtower with a environment option. I have mine set to 17:00 every day:
- WATCHTOWER_SCHEDULE=0 0 17 * * *

I have never had a problem doing auto-updates, maybe I am just lucky.

I have headphones on most of the time listening to music.
It allows me to concentrate on things I need, and to help drown out the noise of the world.

I disagree.
The older I get the less I give a shit about anything. Some younger people are more eager and willing to take on extra work whereas older people would not.

I've not had a spam email for years, and all my filters are set to low/off.
- Separate email for each service,
- Don't sign-up to anything if you don't have to,
- Throw away service for one-time email sign-ups when required (https://10minutemail.com/)

Agreed, but they don't roll out every 2 days.

Don't panic.
It may be stressful to start, with a lot of information will be given to you in a short amount of time. Just take it slowly and keep asking questions.

It's not windows, you don't have to reboot after every update.

Do you have an example config you can show me please?

Another rational is to not have all those 40 ports open (assuming all 40 containers have at least 1 port published).
I don't understand, how else am I meant to access my services. This is internal only, nothing external.

All on separate ports, and all in separate compose files.
Just starting to look to see if Traefik is worth it.
I do use ansible for other tasks, so I'll take a look, thanks.

That did the trick, thanks. You can't add a wildcard in the UI, but I found a guide that works - https://dev.to/makewithyoshi/pi-hole-v6-setting-up-wildcard-domains-3pbe
