Partly automated. A GitHub Actions workflow checks the official Telegram repo every day and opens an issue as soon as a new upstream build is out. From there, one script rebases the Foldgram patches onto the new version, builds the APK and publishes the GitHub release. Foldgram itself also tells you in the app when a new release is available.

The manual parts are on purpose. I run the script myself, because the release signing key stays offline and isn’t stored in CI. I also test every build on my Fold before releasing it, because the bugs this fork fixes only show up on real foldable hardware. The patch set is small, so most updates rebase cleanly. If upstream changes code the patches touch, I resolve that by hand.

So there’s usually a short delay after an official Telegram release, but no manual porting.

yeah, traumatize a children. Our generation is a real piece of shit. These are the parents who post a message a week later asking, “Why is my 8-year-old wetting the bed again?” or “Why can’t my child fall asleep on their own again?” Of course, most kids handle it just fine, but let's just have one kid there who's a little more sensitive. We definitely need a "Favorites" tab. I was thinking about exactly that while I was playing over the last few days. It should work for xCloud games, too. This library seems to take the longest to load.
