I think it did close for a while and then got remodeled, it’s more of a Hifi bar style venue now, the stage upstairs is all klipsch.
Definitely different from the Low End Theory days but still a pretty nice place to go

Fully agree. Missed it my first year, next year I had to fully rearrange travel plans to stay and it totally recontextualized the burn for me. IMHO both man burn and temple burn are essential

A 2496 would give you more faders but I don’t see any listed currently.

1248 only will give you 24 faders at a time but you can save a multitude of pages, even for pretty beginner techs, switching Mems pages is pretty easy

Element/Express like people are suggesting would give you more faders if you have the space for a larger board like that. Would also give the techs more room to grow, but might be more intimidating for beginners

At any electrical connection, get some form of plastic sheet and wrap the whole thing multiple times, then seal the ends with tape. And then keep it elevated.

I wouldn’t advise getting crazy with filter types unless you’re actually doing a full SMART/etc measurement. But also overall you’re not going to break things with slightly different crossover points/different filters— worst case you just cause weird cancellations/summations and make it sound bad 😅

The thing you DO need to learn about in order to not break things is how to setup your limiters

LR24 is pretty standard (often for phase reasons). But it’s not as steep as you might think — listen and play around once you’re at the point of testing. You’ll still very much hear frequencies high/lower than your crossover point

It looks like there’s a third cable on each side between the two rigging cables, all the platform really needs is power (could even just be running off batteries) and network aka ethernet

I mean they probably were, even with in-ears, having high powered monitors is noticeable and helps overpower the much delayed signal from the mains. Not pro-Anyma at all but even if he was entirely faking any control, he’d still have a robust monitoring system
