There's so much beauty in this world, sometimes I just can't contain it. Thank you

What was the whole eulogy/prayer which he forgot the lines to?

A good synopsis I just read for others that might also be curious

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/03/books/review/black-box-thinking-and-failure-why-science-is-so-successful.html

*This part is immense.

If we succeed by failing, then we should be freed from the monolithic road to academic tenure; science should be taught as an adventure in failure. With a delightful combination of feigned naïveté and keen eye for the messy ways that great discoveries occur, he goes so far as to suggest writing a grant proposal in which you promise to fail better. He knows this isn’t how the world works, but nevertheless argues that change will take place “when we cease, or at least reduce, our devotion to facts and collections of them, when we decide that science education is not a memorization marathon, when we — scientists and nonscientists — recognize that science is not a body of infallible work, of immutable laws of facts. . . . And that most of what there is to know is still unknown.”

Thank you for changing my life.

Reminds me of one of the commercials for English language lessons (in Germany).

Ship over the radio: "We are sinking!"

German controller: "What are you sinking about?"

We should invite YouTube to film some of the antics in this subreddit

I think I've read in some other comment on here a while back that out in the middle of the ocean, the water does get quite still, as if you were gliding on a mirror; exactly like how they show it in Life of Pi. Did you experience that too?

sed_base

The future is here!

The 'wrong way' and 'stop' signs are more like guidelines than rules, in India lol

Yea, model 3 ramps up production this Friday. I'm excited for Tesla

But you want the lemonade stand in Paris. It costs $9 to go Paris so you only buy $1 worth of lemons & sell it at a higher markup to makeup for the cost.

Propaganda is everywhere. It's just that you need to be in on the type that your country is supporting.

Anyone who wants to make the world drink vodka. I should put my wine down & go to bed

JFK was a fresh new leader as well back in his day. He would've been 100 today. Just saying.

Goes to show how you can easily win people's hearts and minds through economic progress than by military annexation. America has been doing it for Europe from 1945 - 2017 and now it's Germany's turn to take over

Her face is on the currency & doesn't have to carry a passport because every passport is in her name. Doesn't get any bigger than that

sed_base

The best part of that bit was Andy not being sure if he was gay or not lol

Everybody knows ET only visits North America. It's because of the vast stretches of uninhabited zones which facilitate landing

I know that you're putting a positive spin on this but the Presidency still has a lot of executive power and a bad President is just as detrimental to the country as an irresponsible Congress or the Judiciary

I believe that's where the word 'Great' from Great Britain comes from. Britain is the biggest island amongst the British isles archipelago hence 'Great' Britain.

sed_base

'Buy American'

I can literally go ANYWHERE in my town to experience it to some degree.

This reminds me of a quote from Jon Stewart. "The one way toll on the Lincoln tunnel to get into Manhattan is $12. Do you know how much it costs to get back into New Jersey? Zero".
