It's also the best one for the duo name, Brysko & Basker

Laika's just the quintessential space dog for most people, but it's so on-the-nose and just a straight up copy of the name. No derivation or play on the name, just "Laika".

Basker's named after the Hounds of Baskerville, which is a Sherlock Holmes novel. He's a detective frame named after a detective, so Brysko & Basker would make a great combo name.

I'm so glad Basker made it on the list, the guy's named after Brisco, so it really should be named to pay homage to a book about Sherlock Holmes, it fits the detective theme right on.

I hope there are enough actual book readers in here to figure that one out. On top of that, Brysko & Basker is a way cooler duo name than anything else here.

"Planetshine" and "planetlight" in general are some of my favourite terms, and being able to swap those out for any given planet's name makes it feel so much more personal and beautiful. "Ringshine" is the one that looks the prettiest though, another one of those things that feels like it justifies the urge to cry whenever I look at space photos for too long lmao

/uj Pretty much the most important part of it. I don't know how many times I've pointed out this specific list of things to people who have tried to turn it into a "haha funny morganer" moment. I know it's a circlejerk sub and that people are entitled to jokes, but it's one thing to know and joke about things, and another to both be entirely unaware and have those jokes be based directly on that ignorance.

It's pretty hard to tell with cats without closer inspection, and beyond feeling like he's male he just doesn't want to get into it, since it would a) just be embarrassing, and b) focus more on his cat anatomy, which directly conflicts with his resistance to being considered a cat at that point in the game.

I think that's the point it's trying to drive home with it: you're an outsider, contracted to look into a company of outsiders who treat the people of the town like they're expendable bodies with no identity or culture.

I think the aesthetic suits this one better than a lot of the other Silent Hill design decisions would. It's just meant to feel cold, isolated, and depressing, like you dialed up maritime weather to 11 instead of being scary or mysterious. It's the single most depressing game in the series to me because it's so realistic in its tragedy, and goes way beyond personal grief into carrying that grief and guilt for an entire community.
