It looks like they are flying above a gathering point for friendly forces, pieced from the trailer.
I can imagine that they do the rolls to boost morale. Like wiggling wings to wave to the troops on the ground.

Most definitely painful. There was clearly dynamic cinematography in mind for all of the space battles, but were hampered by available technology.

Cool!
I don't know the latest of the LA improv scene after COVID. Places like UCB and Second City (are they around anymore) will put you in spaces where you're likely to be amongst people looking to get "into the business". That is where you need to ask yourself what you want out of improv.
If you are looking to make your big break and submit spec-scripts, then LA will have the atmosphere that will push you to be your best, because everyone else will be too. I know some of the folks that do work in LA and they are some of the hardest-working sumbitches I know.
If you are looking for improv as an aspect of your life, and not just a stepping stone, then the community in San Diego is very much that: a community. Much more open and kind and receptive to those who are enthusiastic and willing to learn and share. People are more open to hanging out, creating friendships and so on. I haven't been part of the community for awhile, but I've seen basketball tournaments set up, group bbqs, and support across teams and between different improv theaters. You'll find that if you are a giving team member, then you'll rise fast, join teams, and find yourself invited to play with everyone.
LA may end up having "better" performers that push the boundaries of improv, but I've met some genuinely good-hearted, long-hug-making-everything-ok, people through improv in SD.
And if you're in Southern California anytime soon, there are some festivals happening:
Impride 2022, July 8th - 10th, San Diego
Orange County Improv Festival, July 29-30, Santa Ana, CA
I admire your moxie. Feel free to continue to message me, and I suggest reaching out to the two primary free-form improv theaters in San Diego:
Mockingbird Improv (just moved into a new space)
Edit P.S. Also, people go up to do classes and workshops in LA all the time. It's a slog driving from San Diego, but then they get the best of both worlds. And folks from LA come down and do workshops in SD as well, Chad Damiani, Red Door, etc.

The idea is to recognize Ukraine as a country, rather than a geographical region of another country. Inappropriate as one doesn't say "let's go to the France".

Up in Mt. Laguna there is a wee loop called "Red Roost Trail". It's a relatively short loop (~3 miles), moderate difficulty (uphill and such), lightly trafficked, and lots of trees and isolated. You can add in the Agua Dulce trail to extend it out to ~5 miles. Or more if you wanted. Going in the early Spring in the morning is best, as it has the fewest people and the sun passing through the trees is chef's kiss.

Putin wins again.
Winner winner, chicken kiev dinner.

I also thought about the targets and the intensity of the strike. Compared to what Iran COULD do, it definitely is not a strong tactical move in a fight with the U.S. It's a message. Either the U.S. backs down and Iran comes out taller (as you said), or shit will get worse in an asymmetric way. A strong Iran has the consequence of Shia militias having stronger confidence in Iranian support and Saudi Arabia becoming even more skittish. If the U.S. does retaliate, Iran can make the Middle East a shitty place for just long enough to either bring the U.S. back to the table, or shed a lot of blood and cause a lot of chaos.
Who the fuck knows right now.

The more you ruv someone, the more you want to kill them.

I'd be interested in such an endeavor.

Yeah....I doubt you can say that the two dudes in your videos would be as accurate as someone with an actual select-fire Ak47 or M4.
I mean, c'mon, the first dude does a full mag dump without using the sights. Bump fire is for funsies.
shark_zeus
This is my feeling. People say that "oh, but I can use my belt loop". Well...anyone can take household items and, with knowledge, make a bomb. That does not mean that bombs might as well be sold over the counter.
Bump stocks are currently manufactured and available for purchase in stores and online because they are "accessories". I feel that bump stocks should be banned because they are, at best, recreational items fitted to weapons. They do not serve the purpose of controlled fire. Ask how well a person can aim when using a bump stock (when the weapon is being held counter to all previous training) or belt loop or string.
I can shoot a weapon upside down with my eyes closed all by myself, but there shouldn't be a product out there that's a holster and remote trigger...strapped to a blindfold.

What I'd really like is for tiered assistance coupled with real research (more of a census, really) that addresses the different causes, like you say:
Tier 1: "Dorm-like" homes with shared kitchen/bath for people "down on their luck" who need stable housing to find a new job and restart conventional life.
Tier 2: Assisted living for people who have physical issues that need more specialized stable housing to restart conventional life (e.g. healthcare bankrupted them).
Tier 3: Assisted living for people with mental issues. These will require more help with higher assistance:resident ratio.
Tier 4: Rehabilitation facilities and residences for those with drug-addiction but are non-violent.
Tier 5: Facilities that provide some basic services but specialize in rehabilitation for the homeless that may not want to get off the street (certainly there are homeless who "prefer" to be out on the street).
Tier 6: Facilities that specifically address homeless with a history of confrontational or violent behavior. This would be the stop-gap measure between the streets and jail/upper tiers for homeless who have been arrested for such crimes and behavior.
Pie in the sky, I know. But if there is something that is ideal, then it can be worked down into something practical. There's no path forward from "Fuck 'em."

Because the federal legislature's jurisdiction is on the federal level?
A Federal Senator or Congressman doesn't determine how the city's property tax is spent or if alcohol is served after 2am...

Damn. Thank you for answering my question.

Apart from being stopped by Mercury news' paywall that may have explained it in the article, I don't understand how the county can stop what a city does with the old City Halls?

The difference is that this house has been bought and will be gone, whether it is preserved or not.
Edit: And it would be good press for Google, showing that it wishes to both preserve the history of San Jose as well as contribute to the city's culture (San Jose History Park).
shark_zeus
It would be nice if Google funded moving the house to the San Jose History Park. The house looks fairly old, and the park could use and injection of funding and attention.

My guess is that the goal is to throw the legitimacy of elections into doubt far enough out from 2016 to have "shoulder shrug" as a response, but near enough to 2018 to upend a Democratic Sweep in the midterms. We're in for a wild ride.

Looks great! The world needs a "Silent Movie" version of Tron: Legacy without any dialogue (except for Jeff Bridge's opening bit) and that gorgeous soundtrack.

People don't protest these days over foreign policy. The last time was the Invasion of Iraq. Despite worldwide protests, we still went in. It's easier to rally people around domestic issues. International relations are too complicated for common folk to understand versus immigration, LGBT, abortion, etc.
I want to be kidding and over-the-top cynical....but there weren't protests.

Check out waterfront park next time, it has a large playground for kids and has a wonderful view of the harbor.
In addition to the park, the Maritime Museum is a nice visit, probably a solid 2 hours of interesting things to look at amongst their 5 ships. They also do (30 minute?) tours of the Bay on two of their boats. Always wanna advertise more museums and cultural attractions!

Very good point. I guess this San Jose native has some beef with towns on the Peninsula and their consistent refusal to contribute to the housing supply (and their snobby attitudes, in my super-biased opinion). All the upvotes to you!

For the size of the lot, I would consider a "mini-main street" in the area that would be akin to a quiet small town for the suburban families to go to, that would have low/med-rise (think 3-5 stories) apartment buildings with 1st and 2nd floors be retail and office, respectively. Streets that are narrow for cars, but wide for bikes and pedestrians.
If you look at, say, Castro st. in Mountain View, you can see that the area taken up by businesses along that one road can easily be folded over to fill in the space of the former golf course. This doesn't have to be a Santanna Row or DTSJ, it can be the calm, serene, but vibrant and dense atmosphere geared towards families, children, and seniors. Looking at the other towns (really, towns, compared to the size and culture of San Jose) like Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, etc., their "downtowns" are single streets that only seem "hoppin" because of how small it is and that they are the only game around.
I know that it is much easier to have a giant attraction or Target/Costco or mega-apartment development rather than a mini-town, but this idea is what is needed to add to the housing crisis, give opportunities for smaller businesses and startups, and to change the San Jose sprawl towards density by giving them the benefits of it (walkability, a place for families, seniors, etc., events). Who knows? If you can develop the site in this manner, then your company may take the lead in revitalizing large areas of in-fill (re-zoned light-industrial, former mall-sites) for San Jose, the Bay Area, California, and the nation. It never hurts to dream a little bigger from time to time :)
Feel free to PM me if you want me to elucidate my thoughts a bit more.

There is a storm about the Urban Villages plan already, I suppose adding Google to the mix would just grind everything to a halt across the board.
That’s how Texas and California will form an alliance in the Civil War movie coming out later this year: the Federal government doesn’t aid either state during massive wildfires. Maybe as retaliation for not voting for the president.
