Are you just casually stalking everyone who replies to you?

Btw, 5k karma was a lot back in the day.

Private tutoring at the university sounds like a great idea, do you know if the profs would tutor non-students?

sjf

Thanks for the advice.

sjf

Yeah, that's what I imagined. The course is cheap though, and you get a one year visa, I don't think you can get a student visa for private courses.

Btw, which are the best universities for humanities?

sjf

Thanks, although I actually think Dehli is more scary than Benares.

sjf

Ah I forget sometimes just how much skin tone matters in IN.

sjf

Yeah, I know what you mean. I think I do a pretty good job at fitting in. I don't get so many stares in Bangalore anymore, but I am 5'10 and obviously white, so there is only so much I can do.

Jesus, after a while even I stare at white people just out of curiosity/novelty.

European.

I come with ovaries.

As a software engineer working in London, those salaries ranges are below average.

sjf

Yeah, just as good as when I read it reddit three years ago...

sjf

Are there people that don't do this?

sjf

That site is really interesting looking. Do you know how accurate/impartial it is? From what I can tell it's an Indian non-profit.

Disclaimer, this photo must have been taken with an immense photo lens.

To who ever compiled this, excellent work.

Step 3 is hope that the shop were you got the sim card actually submitted the paperwork for the background check. Otherwise your phone will get disabled after a couple of weeks and you have to do it all over again. Getting a sim card in india was a major pain in the ass for me and involved lots of paperwork, proofs of id and address, photographs, etc. This was with vodafone, my friends had similar experiences.

People living in pre-industrialised societies didn't have to live a built-up area 600miles squared with seven and half million strangers.

sjf

Can someone translate?

sjf

Well that was disappointing.

Instead try this, it's the poem Love and Death by W. B. Yeats, set to music by the Scottish(?) band the Waterboys.

sjf

FYI this is from Church St in Bangalore. (they only mention this on the last page).

sjf

Also, can someone explain what the story is with the 11:30 closing time in this city? It's unbelievable... How do you guys cope?

sjf

Don't you find this a bit hypocritical. It's fine so long as someone else foots the bill and goes to the trouble of getting the stuff. I'm glad you're not my friend.
