People are getting hung up on the fact that you have to give the creature back, but honestly, if stealing your opponent's best creature and giving your entire board +2/+2 doesn't end the game, you probably aren't in a winnable position anyway.

That said, everyone is right that it is a bad card.

merging only lasts for a single playthrough of P3, you lose it even if you just restart the chapter.

If wave 3 was Day 1 DLC, then yes I would feel like the devs were exploiting me. But in this scenario, "cut content" doesn't mean content that was created and then removed from the product, it means that the scope of the game was reduced in development, and stuff they had planned to make wasn't made.

So now they need to make it. Making it requires additional labor, which deserves additional compensation.

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, it should be noted that the announcement is really vague about the new story stuff in Wave 3. All it says is that it'll involve the 4 sub-lords, and has a cutscene of Yu Phas falling into the cauldron.

Everyone was predicting 4 more routes, but that isn't at all confirmed. It could be like Cindered Shadows where it's a self-contained story that unlocks characters and classes in the main game.

I do think it is likely they'll explain/expand on plot points that are glossed over, but in what form we can't say.

Like half my army was recruited in chapter 11 or 12, and they're fine. I'm sure mathematically they aren't as strong other options, but I haven't noticed any kind of increased struggle to complete maps.

Charioteer Lilian is actually maybe my second- or third-best unit. I don't know if I got STR blessed or maybe Charioteer is just a busted class, though. I also lucked into a Horsekiller Bow super early, which was helpful.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say I'm not excited by this. Even if you attach a cost to it, most of the benefits of rewinding can be had for "free" by just resetting the map. That makes the optimal strategy to spend your sand on in-game buffs and just hard resetting when you need to.

In my experience, making a choice between in-game power and QoL features isn't interesting or fun, and game systems should avoid that kind of dichotomy.

Of course, this entirely hinges on what the other god abilities actually are. I'm just skeptical they can be competitively costed and designed to make this an interesting trade-off.

I realize I've probably lost the culture war at this point, but I'm sad the term "JRPG" has come to describe a kind of genre and not just, you know, a Japanese RPG. These dudes are from Massachusetts, apparently.

Not quite. Unable to Scream doesn't keep the creature tapped, so they can use it to chump block to get thier commander back in the Command Zone.

Being two mana cheaper probably makes it the better spell anyway, but it's not strictly better.

I don't functionally see the difference between shooting an ancient sci-fi laser gun and casting a bolt of lightning from your hand, you know? Some people view those things as VERY different, and that's cool, I'm not trying to say anyone's opinion is wrong. But me, personally, it does not trigger a "this is wrong and different" flag.

I think what helps keep it in the realm of fantasy is that the sci-fi stuff is not enmeshed with the every day. It is specifically kept to ancient ruins and rare special weapons.
