I made them do stuff. My team is still active. We are cross-chain, seamlessly, on ETH/L2 and Bitcoin. Mix and match avatars, weapons, companions, tools, and property.

Artists would make game assets and I gave them the web-based/mobile game, community, and resources to add them to a pixelverse MMO without code required. We had/have many interconnected realms where folks could play in PVE/PVP with quests, raids, community events (like raves featuring musicians/artists). There are nearly a dozen unique worlds to explore, and we still have a dedicated player base.

Loads of fun, and we were a top seller on GameStop before they shut down.

Assets would save progress to the chain, and players would buy/sell/trade their assets/progress in marketplaces. Creators would make bank, and we charged fair $USD fees when they added content to sell.

We were a legit use case, and had over 30K players and an active community for 5+ years. Partnerships with blockchains and ecosystem partners, for cross-promotion.

Unfortunately, the scammers and lack of regulation in the space was a downfall.

I don’t blame the tech, or our community, I blame the short-sighted fools and lack of regulation.

I’m tired of getting flamed for it, though.

Ironic post.

First, as a Canadian, I feel deep shame for my country’s history regarding our indigenous peoples, so the Wikipedia article hits hard for the use of “Eskimo”. Sorry.

Second, as a multi-provincial Canadian, we treat “sorry” the same way. We have many variations of “sorry” which we tend to express through tone and context.

I’ve always loved the joke - how to spot the Canadian. You step on their feet, and they say “sorry” to you.

Sometimes the tone is we goofed. Sometimes, you’re the a**hole, but we don’t want to make it a thing.

Lots of bad advice here from carnivorous folk.

Been vegetarian for 35 yrs.

If someone chooses to go back to meat eating, that’s on them, and they likely need to do so by reintegration slowly because their gut biome doesn’t work the same.

If I have any meat product added to my diet by accident or maliciousness even in minuscule amounts, I get violently ill, fairly quickly. My kid has severe allergies so we are conscientious of them.

It is sad and offensive to see so many folks here trying to put their issues on to others.

If a longtime vegetarian/vegan chooses to reintroduce meats or otherwise into their diets, get a professional involved to help, so it is safe.

This.

LooperLands is still a thing, we never stopped building and have an active community.

You’re the best, Fudgey!

smileyphase

Yes. Yes, we do.

smileyphase

Always has. Marketplace shows we are legion.

smileyphase

Same, friend.

That game was soooo good.

Edit: sequel trailer:

Heh So OCP in real life.

The game, Robocop Rogue City is in line with the Verhoven take. Just finished it, and they have a sequel. It’s fantastic.

smileyphase

Just appreciate you two. I’ve enjoyed your work together and apart. Can’t wait to catch your next flick. Be well.

Bienvenue, gens du pays. 🇨🇦 (Edit: odd autocorrect)

Great book. Period. He is a solid historian. Was gonna suggest but you came first, buddy. 🇨🇦

Québécois Anglo here.

I always went with vous to start, but I’d go with tu for dating, right off.

That said, group sex politeness would be hilarious. 😅 (Really kidding)

My experience is that Francophones always appreciated the effort and could forgive a lot of errors (eh, outside Parisians). Wish you and your date well. Ask. It’s a great icebreaker.

smileyphase

Great insight. Cheers.

KD is off the menu, boys.

I can make my own better, now. Macaroni Canadian aged cheddar Seasoning Salt Bit of turmeric Go for high fat cream Hint of pepper Use butter

See ya, kraft.

smileyphase

That is a gimme. Yup. Nailed it in one.

Try smart recovery. It’s free, in person and remote. Aligns with therapy. Worked for me, and now works for my practice.

No religion needed. And no one will ask to sponsor you.

Whatever works, works. If 12 step resonates, do that. It didn’t work for me. But smart did. I got myself into my mess, I got myself out. I don’t connect with a higher power or prayer. But I did connect with therapy and rational emotive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and dialectical behavioural therapy.

Do harm reduction if you need to. No judgment or criticism.

You can do it.

Learning. Elbows up! 🇨🇦

This. Hard. Ask about dietary restrictions. Especially allergies- my kid has some severe ones.

As a vegetarian, I want to be polite, but often wind up eating bread, and feeling shameful for not accepting my host’s good intentions. I’m apologetic, but worry they feel bad, too.

For me, it’s the company more than the meal. Even if I can’t eat it, I share appreciation for the parts I can, smells, colours, presentation, and cultural background.

Otherwise, I wanna eat as much local as I can, to share the experience.

My in-laws are Chinese. I don’t mind going for rice and the rare veggie dish I’m able to eat, I just enjoy family and company, and go into family meals, trying not to cause offence and showing gratitude for the welcoming parts.

Also? I wanna try vegemite.

Good on you.

Edit: they’ll likely bring the good maple syrup as a gift.

AlAnon is a support group for families and friends- I understand the confusion.

If the loved one with addiction goes to a twelve step program that works for them, it’s a good companion option for consistency with the methodology.

I’m not a fan, personally, but whatever works best for people, especially if they’re Judeo-Christian theistic, works.

smileyphase

I took the facilitator training, I believe they claimed it had roughly a 70% rate at getting addicts to seek treatment, willingly.

At the very least, it is a non-theistic program that doesn’t judge or criticize, and gives tools based on modern therapy (REBT, CBT, DBT, MET) to help those living with someone in active addiction a way to set boundaries, not enable, and manage their own wellness.

Addiction is chaos and pain. This is a good way out for many.

smileyphase

Smart Recovery’s CRAFT is the most successful program for family and friends, helps them live w/ someone in active addiction and most addicts wind up voluntarily seeking treatment.

It’s an option. Not sure if I can link here, but you can Google the name, they have in person and remote meetings with Zoom.

smileyphase

Desolé. You’re right. Vas y is more like “go on”

Still a call to action, I use it interchangeably.

Still, Elbows up🇨🇦

It’s French for let’s go

Elbows up, friend
