take a look at peony patterns or little lizard king, they might have something

does your home have a style? For instance hickory tends to have a rustic look and maple can look modern, or traditional
sodapopper44
how would you describe your fabric, crepe is weave, it comes in different weights and is made out of several fibers, such as polyester, or silk or wool

she originally called me crying and I thought it couldn't be that bad, she's just being to picky, so I asked for a pic, and when I saw it, oh no! And that's when I asked her who altered it. It wasn't that difficult to fix, just time consuming due to so many layers. Everything worked out. (:

I also use a 4 way nail buffer, the pink and white sides

I like tricot fusible interfacing, I use it in knits and lightweight wovens and I use it to cut my own stay tape. For other weight in apparel I use mostly sew in, I use a glue stick to baste. If you use sf101 for apparel, be sure and preshrink. It mentions it on the pellon website. I usually buy the tricot interfacing from wawak, but sometimes walmart online is less expensive for pellon on bolts

season 11, 2014 Portland OR, this is the dress, I had to fix, the model is quite slender (without wide hips)

try and go through your credit card or paypal, 'item not as described'

where I live, the gas company will come out and check, I would have them come out, and sign off if it's not their problem and go back to whirlpool, or even an Indy repair person

I recently remodeled and love my gas cooktop. I didn't want a glass top. I saw too many broken tops on this forum. I also like to use the gas top as a cooling rack for cakes. If you ever felt the need for induction you could get a stand alone induction burner.

I would ask for a refund and explain why, if no response, try a charge back. I have received refunds for pdf when I explained errors. Regarding project runway, had to do last minute alterations on my stepdaughter's wedding gown, after the winner of project runway tried twice to alter it.

I learned with the book 'Fit for Real People'. They have patterns under the Butterick label and lots of videos and craftsy classes. It's not as intense as something like Cashmerette, and even if you don't use their method, the book has lots of good info. (it has 2 or 3 editions with updates) Another great book that is out of print, but easy to find second hand, is Singer Library 'Perfect Fit'

as others said, you can't take out the fullness, only change it, but I think the dress might look better if it was a skirt and blouse , which could be easily changed

think about the sizes you want to put on clothes and bags, for baby clothes the 900 is fine. Embrilliance is pretty intuitive and there is so much support for it. Look at few of their videos and see what you think.
sodapopper44
you should post a photo of the dress, if it's actually too tight and proportions aren't too far off, you may be able to let it out
sodapopper44
I prefer drawings, for the photos to be helpful you need contrast, and not use busy prints. for instance if the fabric is white, the stitching needs to black or red to be able to see what is going on
sodapopper44
What do you want to use your designs on? The 900 is a good machine but the hoop sizes are limited.
learn to use your machine, and get software what allows you to combine and change up premade designs. Do you use Mac or PC? Check the memory requirements of any software you plan to buy before purchasing. , I can purchase a well digitized font at Jolsens or Juju for a few dollars and use the free express program at embrilliance to combine them. Their other software comes in modules and you can start with Essentials and work up to digitizing. There is a lot of online support and education for their products.
I have been embroidering for many years, and if I need a custom design or logo, I send it to a digitizer.

first check if that fabric is knit or woven, stretch satin is used for both. then you need to know the % of stretch in each direction. Sometimes stretch wovens have vertical stretch and no crosswise stretch and that helps with knowing how much to buy. if it is 20% or less it generally will work

appletotes has some modern looks https://appletotes.com/
I also like Doll tag clothing, she has knitting and sewing patterns https://dolltagclothing.com/
also the designer on pixie faire QTπ Pattern Co
the liberty jane patterns on pixie faire have a modern look, but I won't use them, the few I have tried had drafting errors
sodapopper44
I don't think it's the same dress, if you look at the photo there is quite a bit of shirring on the left side of the photo in pics 1&2. which would be the right back of the modeled dress and you don't the gathers, to me it looks like drag lines vs shirring on the last pic
sodapopper44
see if your library might have this book, it's out of print 'Sewing Outdoor Gear' by Rochelle Harper, she was one of the original designers for daisy kindgom ski wear patterns, Her book has good info info on sealing seams and choosing linings
sodapopper44
you might contact the local machine knitters guild, the club often has machines for sale, from members or donations they refurbish, and might be able to help, I have a 700 with ribber and and 160 want to sell, and live just outside of Portland

Indy designers of pdf patterns is a whole new world. And now that AI is added to the mix, it's more like another galaxy. It really is consumer beware, which is something it took me a while to understand. I was so naive, thinking if someone made a pattern it would be great.
In the real apparel world there are designers and there are drafters. Both jobs require different skill sets and generally they don't do both jobs, even if they know how. Know this makes more more skeptical, especially when I see self taught in the 'about me'
There used to be a blog, called 7 pine design, the writer was a professional pattern drafter who had worked for rtw apparel companies. She would go through an Indy pattern and show the drafting errors and how to correct them, it was so interesting. There was also the Colette debacle with the poorly done Rue dress. (Colette is now Seamwork) I have found errors in the Big 4, I used to call them and they would check it out and confirm. often mentioning I was the first person to let them know.
so amateur and professional, I've found mistakes in both, I have also bought pdf patterns that were horrible and asked for and received a refund, explaining the reason it was horrible
