So, uh, how bad does this person smell?
soratoyuki
We could be up 10 and we should still chant sell the team.
soratoyuki
Don't be a meat proxy.
soratoyuki
Why is this entire sub a fundraiser for Gaza. This is literally an anime subreddit?
soratoyuki
It might not like the period in your email address. Iirc they're cosmetic and you can safely leave it out.
soratoyuki
I do. Try to stay on topic next time, thank you.
soratoyuki
Is the breed relevant to the post?
soratoyuki
This is when you need to shrug your shoulders and say you didn't get the order and tell then to get a refund from corporate.
soratoyuki
Yes? Very.
soratoyuki
It's not fair. I'm getting so much second-hand embarrassment from this clanker and they probably don't even have the decency to be ashamed. Sigh.
soratoyuki
I have some really bad news for you...
soratoyuki
The vast majority of people oppressing us seem to frequently forget that their addresses, tax records, etc. are easily, legally searchable online.
soratoyuki
Everything goes up but my pay, sigh.
soratoyuki
Me. I'll get the same results for a fraction of the price.
soratoyuki
A cappuccino cup is just a cappuccino cup; thick-walled, wide-mouthed, about 6 ounces. The term doesn't get used much at Starbucks since there's rarely a need to distinguish it from a demitasse, etc.
soratoyuki
But my 4am trip for the sugar bomb is special, so I'm obligated to post a picture of it.
soratoyuki
You mean what's literally happening in this post?
soratoyuki
Risk their safety and security lmao. Get a fucking grip.

Most workers in the US have been increasingly following your advice for about 40 years now, and the end result is we're all making less money for less benefits. 40 years ago a single worker could buy a home, raise a nuclear family, and retire at 65 with a pension and Social Security.
We stopped striking and joining unions, and look at us now. Fighting each other over $122. Unionization, on average, leads to a 6.6% raise for first contracts, which equates to about a dollar raise for OP. If full-time, a successful union contract likely makes OP their money back in about 3 weeks.
soratoyuki
This is the problem though. This is why we need more (and more active) unions. People are living paycheck to paycheck because our pay is so low, our collective share of wealth as workers is so low, so much of our value is extracted from us in comparison to the work we do, etc.
If your financial conditions are so bad that you can't afford to miss one day of sub-living wages, you can't afford not to strike do a one day walk-out.
soratoyuki
Lol, dramatic? Dramatic is the miners that were killed by the government at Blair Mountain, or the union organizers massacred by the CIA in Latin America or Indonesia, or the workers that die from heat stroke at Amazon warehouses, or the workers that have to step over the bodies of their coworkers at Amazon warehouses or get fired.
This is asking OP to do the right thing and miss one day of sub-living wage pay which has probably already been covered by commenters on this post. Goddamn bootlickers lol.

That's why baristas need a union. That's why all workers need unions. You see the connection, right?
You asked what has the union done for stores at this point? Arguably credit card tips (something Starbucks refused to ever offer before finally, illegally offering them to non-union stores as a wedge) but the answer is that unions can offer so much material gains for workers that, as you pointed out, Starbucks would rather illegally close stores and illegally fire workers than make concessions. The extent to which they want to quash a union is the same extent to which workers need to fight for them. They aren't this scared of unions for no reason.
The interests of baristas and management (and most workers and most management) are fundamentally at odds, and managers will stop at nothing to prevent a union. It sucks, but a one-day walkout is not the biggest price someone has to pay to win union recognition. That's the price of solidarity; something managers have amongst themselves but that we're obviously deficient in.
soratoyuki
Honestly incredible that you wrote that and still decided management good union bad.
soratoyuki
Most unions do pay you for walking out or picketing, and on top of that, most unions also have a solidarity strike fund.
Americans just seem to be built differently. We seemingly can't fathom making minor personal sacrifices for possible long-term gains.
