And it was done by Crassus, the richest man in Rome. Much like a rich Melon Husk extracting value from suffering citizens right now.

Yeah, it really feels like a death by 1000 cuts situation. No single change ruined the game, but over time, the accumulation of little things, jersey ads, endless reviews, load management, over-commercialization, has eroded the experience for long-time fans.

The product has been watered down over time, not just by rule changes or player decisions, but by the way the league is consumed. Talking heads frame every moment as part of a never-ending debate cycle, fan discourse gets stuck in engagement-driven hot takes, and highlight culture strips away the depth of the actual game. The core experience of watching basketball is still great, but it's increasingly being commodified into easily digestible, context-free moments, which boosts perceived popularity but often at the cost of deeper fan investment.

The result is this weird paradox where the NBA is at an all-time high in revenue and attention, yet many lifelong fans feel more disconnected than ever. It’s like the game still exists, but it’s surrounded by so much noise that the experience of being a fan doesn’t hit the same.

Mad romantic. Big dick move.

Seeing stuff like this and knowing that it is happening all around the world at any given moment, that there is inherent splendor and beauty and grandeur really takes you away from the everyday rumination of day-to-day tedium.

Sending love and support in spades along with a virtual hug for when and if you ever need it in the future.

TikTok does allow you to have a choice in what you see, you can long press on content and say "not interested" if you don't want to watch. In your app settings you can also completely reset your TikTok algorithm. It's also the only app with time limit warnings built into the feed.

If you get videos you don't like just use the "not interested" feature to see less in your feed. You can also reset your algorithm completely in settings. You have control over what you see.

Legitimately one of the most awe inspiring things I have seen on here.

I think the people here are tying to say he is intentionally being dense and dismissing Nascar based on that exact sense of feigned engineering superiority, which is unfortunate.

Let him cook

Edit: Alt for general meme-ing purposes.

Sounds kind of unsustainable and the type of hyperbole you engage in when trying to hype up a fan base. I wonder if he realizes the principles which make him successful in capitalism aren't the same dynamics at play here.

Yeah, I think there is a false dichotomy with a lot of fans here who want the Tuesday show to be the same. What makes the Thursday crew so special is actually lightning in a bottle, that ineffable quality and chemistry doesn't just happen. Us acting like the Tuesday crew can do it on a whim when those guys have been together for decades is kinda wild.

I love that Lefkoe and Candace are trying to find their own footing. Shaq tends to be goofier with a straight man in DWade or Crawford on those days without Chuck and they do more segments instead of banter. Let the Tuesday show be it's own thing and develop it's own personality folks.

Also chuck is one of a kind. You can't just copy and paste that shit.

Damn I wish Jeanie would massage me.

The way I audibly cackled at this comment

I too am looking for this song.

There goes Dr. O'Neal again

Honestly, I can empathize. It is a tough situation. Just know that which we resist persists. These feelings of uncertainty are as natural as risk mitigation efforts. Glad you are finding spaces of expression and validation. The past stays present until it is processed, and this pandemic is a whole lot to unpack between society being so cold and harsh to the individualism that is dooming so many to cruel fates.

All you can do is stay true to yourself. Control what you can control. You cannot control other people or their reactions. Do what makes you feel safe, do what will help calm you. Empathy begins with yourself. Be gentle and forgive yourself for cognitive dissonance or feelings of not being sure what to do.

Tapping into a support network is the right move. Keep it up and keep doing you, for real.

You are doing the right thing. Stay vigilant but remember that the anxiety is a way to signal to yourself to keep doing what you are doing. There is a fine line between catastrophizing and rumination though.

I would say stay true to your own safety standards, especially with the long term cardiovascular and other downstream effects of COVID not fully known yet.

People are relaxed because ignorance and exhaustion. There have been 225,000 deaths from Covid this year. It isn't over. Do not let it paralyze you. You are jealous because on the surface others seem fine. Truth is they are just as terrified, they just cope with denial.

You are coping with rationality and logic in the face of a virus that has no feelings or emotions. Keep it up, mitigate risk and do you.

Yes, we have known this from the jump. 14 was the average. Some cases last 30 or more days too. Then there is long covid. The whole 5 days things really is only to capitulate to businesses.

The lack of empathy for vulnerable, immunocompromised, and disabled people in the name of capitalism is shocking and just plain disappointing.

Fun fact, prodigal actually means to be rashly or wastefully extravagant. I think Dennis saving the Lakers $80 million makes it more like the frugal son returns.

The first act of violence that patriarchy demands of males is not violence toward women. Instead patriarchy demands of all males that they engage in acts of psychic self-mutilation, that they kill off the emotional parts of themselves. Society telling them they would be seen as weak if they show emotion. If an individual is not successful in emotionally crippling himself, he can count on patriarchal men to enact rituals of power that will assault his self-esteem.
