Have you considered offering a postal (only) service?

spaghetti_hoops

Thanks :) I think I had to much fluffy filler rubbish, I've now removed it and it looks better overall. I still think I can do better, but I don't feel quite as downhearted looking at it. I have 9 digital (logos, mascots and book covers), 5 pen and ink illustrations and then 4 shop items currently, it was the digital (just looking at those numbers tells a story) that was too big, and arguably could go through another cull.

I just made some savage cuts and overall, it looks better already.

What if I loathe everything I produce? I don't like anything after about a month of finishing, which makes my entire portfolio seem like trash to me. Do you limit yourself to a set number of pieces each time or do you make sure that the overall quality is consistent without worrying about how many pieces you show?

I'm receiving limited quality feedback on my work on social media (sometimes it feels as though I am shouting into a void) , every client I've had so far seems really happy with what I've produced, and clients I've gone after who reject me, avoid giving me any reasons for why they dislike my work. If I focus on social media feedback, would you recommend behance or dribbble? I have accounts on both but I'm often hesitant to post as my work is so inferior.

Thanks, you've made some really interesting suggestions there :)

Haha, well, I had a forgotten ; I'd left in before an !important, so that screwed with things, and my code was edited from...

#billing_country_chosen{
display: none;
}

to

#billing_country_chosen + .select2-container{
display: none !important;
}

because my code was hiding the wrong thing (I'd tried to hide every div directly surrounding that drop down in turn so I guess this was the last one I'd left in before handing it over?). My code was also under that extra ; so anyway, now it works!

New problem, drop down 2 has a width of 100%, and screws up when I set it to 65% and try to put it inline with its label.

I really hate drop down boxes.

Hey, just thought I'd say thank you again, and let you know that in the end I had to get a friend to fix it for me. They've solved that problem but I have a fresh one, there's always something!

spaghetti_hoops

I'll have a look and report back, thank you :)

spaghetti_hoops

Hi, thanks for your reply!

The theme is supposedly compatible, although there have been no updates since June last year and the themes creators seem to have all but abandoned their support for it.

I've tried...

remove all custom css - the problem is still there disable the theme - still there disable the plugins - still there

The best solution I have at the moment is to hide one of the drop downs (the bottom one) on the shipping page, and then trying to physically hide that bottom drop down on the billing page... not ideal :( and I have no clue what that would do on mobile devices.

Thank you! :)

Thanks! :)

Thank you :)

You could try doglost and missing and found pets manchester both on fb, they might be able to help. Some people post/ look for missing pets on the buy and sell sites too. Good luck!

spaghetti_hoops

That's great, thanks very much!

spaghetti_hoops

That's brilliant thank you! Exactly what I was looking for :) If you think of any others, please add them

spaghetti_hoops

Thank you :)

spaghetti_hoops

Looking for artworks you can buy :) prints and originals

spaghetti_hoops

Thanks, me too :) I'm reconsidering scanning the whole lot again at the moment at a higher dpi... 7th time and all ;)

spaghetti_hoops

You're an absolute star. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to clarify everything for me, it's helped no end :)

spaghetti_hoops

Thank you!

1 - Double checked I had it set to 100% and they show as being the same size. I don't have acrobat on here but I can get it if you think it might reveal something different?

2 - That was actually the same tutorial I followed :) I did wonder if they were able to open it in ps at their end and see the ruler lines? I wasn't sure what the point was after I had made it, as my work is in black and white, and I'm selecting a slightly arbitrary measurement, or white boarder to go around the work (enough to allow someone to frame the work and have a sufficient white space around it). I'm starting to wonder if I really need a bleed at all.

3 - Excellent thank you very much. I think I will redo them all and double check this too. 5th time is the charm.

Thank you for that walk through, that's made it so much clearer for me! :)

spaghetti_hoops

Thanks for replying!

spaghetti_hoops

Thank you, I am trying to get my head around all of this now!

spaghetti_hoops

Hi, thanks so much for replying and taking the time to step through everything. I hope I grasp most of it, I am getting a little confused though with my end result, so I hope you don't mind me asking another question.

So, I scanned my artwork, 300dpi, saved as a tiff. I then played about with contrast in ps, saved as cmyk. Need to add a bleed to it, so tried to do so in illustrator, discovered the issue I mentioned above, but saved the pdf anyway. Then decided ok, I will add a bleed in ps, did this, saved pdf, then compared the two pdfs...

Opened in a pdf viewer, they appear to be the same size. I think I have lost the plot now.

For one image, the quality looks comparable and the size on screen is identical. For the other one, there seems to be some loss of quality for the illustrator version, but again, both are the same size.

Am I best to stick with creating bleeds in ps? These are to be sent to a printer for giclee printing. Thank you again.

Interesting, thanks!

My experience of ducks extends to ponds and lots of mess, where does she live when not out walking around on the streets with her owner? In the house? Outside?
