It used to be all year, but they relaxed that in the 60s.

Worth noting that while a list of numbers is a vector in the mathematical sense, the way vectors are used in computing is really unrelated. Operations like push and pop don't really make much sense on mathematical vectors. Computing vectors are more similar to sequences in math

sphen_lee

What do they mean "had" , did something happen to the universe?

"Four score and 1145 years ago our forefathers' foreheads conceived a new nation."

Avalon is on the wrong side of Melbourne. It's closer if you live in Geelong, but much further for the bulk of the population that live East of Melbourne's CBD.

Nothing west of Anzac bridge counts /s

sphen_lee

It's closer if you avoid tolls (46m vs 58m).

The new M8 tunnel (with toll) halves the trip from Parramatta to Kingsford Smith.

If you're further West or North-West then WSI is probably closer either way.

Bone apple tea?

A lot of married couples describe each other as best friends. Nothing else in this post implies there was bad intent going on

It's an interesting idea but so much of the plot happens off screen and away from the player. The mystery of the occuria is too subtle until almost the end. I would have preferred more mystery drip fed from the beginning. (IMO this is something that FFX does really well)

Unless you have very light hair, most people's hairline is visible in hours if not minutes after shaving. No one is hiding balding by shaving...

sphen_lee

Exactly this! I have to choose a length to keep my hair and that length just happens to be zero. It's not about hiding balding - as if going more bald is somehow going to hide it? I just think zero looks best with the hair I have.

There's a flex: I can put in contact lenses with my eyes closed 😂

sphen_lee

Make sure you cover it with tin foil!

I'm not familiar with Odin, but does that mean you can't write your own versions of these types? eg. if I build my own matrix library I can't use operators, but the built-in one can?

Almost every business uses halves and quarters for planning and accounting. Not having an round number of months in each would be annoying

sphen_lee

Who's summer? Damn hemispheres...

sphen_lee

This is why infinity is so tricky. You have to use a power set to actually make a countable infinity become uncountable. "Multiplying" infinities like OP described isn't enough.

The argument is about the particular values of physical constants. Physics doesn't predict them, we just have to measure them.

Why they have the specific values we measure is used as an argument for a creator, but it's just a god-of-the-gaps argument as usual.

sphen_lee

Another flaw is that we don't even know if the constants can vary. Their values might be set by some deeper physics we don't understand yet.

It's just my opinion. What do I need that hour for? It's not an extra free hour of leisure... I still have to do all the same housework and go to bed an hour earlier so I can get to an hour earlier.

sphen_lee

You get more daylight in summer whether we change the clocks or not. The benefits of starting the day an hour earlier to get even more evening sun are dubious IMO

sphen_lee

Every year I'm surprised by the number of people who don't realize there are actually more daylight hours in summer; daylight saving doesn't magically create more sun

sphen_lee

My microwave clock hasn't been set to the correct time for years...

I thought it was because of the eye test. Vision definitely starts to change after 40
